- Some Entrance

300 Words
I had never been one for dramatic entrances. Eyes gazing, hushed whispers, pointing gestures. I admit, this would be the first entrance I've had without the ushering and nagging of my mother. This entrance actually, wasn't my fault. Or my intention. My eyes stay glued to where my hand is positioned on my torso. "My lord.. My queen.. I apologise.. for the interruption." A sharp pain twists in my torso and I cringe. I knew I shouldn't have used a portal to get here. "Show your face child." Slowly lifting my head, I meet her gaze and smile wholeheartedly. "It's me mom. Eryn." She covers her mouth with her hand, hiding a shocked gasp. I see a small tear build in the corner of her eye. How long has it been? And then my eyes move to him. The one man I trust with everything. "Papa." "Daughter." I smile and falter a bit as the pain becomes too much to handle. Next time this happens, well that's just it, this won't happen again. "I need.. to go.. to my.. room. The trip.. was long-" The last remaining part of my strength and will to stay standing ends and I know I'm falling. I know I'm going to meet the floor right now. I don't think, I cradle my torso and wait for the impact. But there's none. Strong, warm arms catch me and I hold onto them. As tight as I did when he held me on that very first day. "I got you sweetheart." He kisses my forehead and stands, holding me close. "Apologies. Let us reschedule this meeting for another time. Lilith." I don't see what happens next. My eyes close and I'm out like a light. Whatever happens, I know now that at least I am safe.
