Standing up and walking to stand in front of her, he asked, "Are you afraid of me because of that night?"
"That night was an accident. You saved me, and I assure you, I will never hurt you. There's no need for you to be overly cautious around me, or anyone else for that matter. I will always help you with anything. You can consider me as part of your family."
Before she could respond, his deep, magnetic, and seductive voice sounded again, "Mm-hmm."
She nodded, choking back sobs, as tears welled up in her eyes and finally rolled down her cheeks. Her heart felt warm; this was the first person who had shown concern for her since her parents passed away.
