CHAPTER SEVEN

Victoria went to the shop the next day happy and smiling all morning, the previous night made her suddenly forget how mad she was with liam for years now. It was almost noon when she arrived, liam had finished setting up his workshop and her pastry shop. One could think that they were entirely different shops but it was a large warehouse that was divided into two. "Are you also into carpentry?" she asked him as she got into her pastry shop and found him painting. "Hey tori, no, i'm not. My friend helped with that this morning." "He's damn fast and i love the counter, the tables and chairs are beautiful too." "That's too much credit for Jammie, what about me?" Victoria chuckled, "You painted them, that's what made it beautiful." liam smiled, "Now i have to go get the equipments and materials to begin as soon as possible." "You should make a discount sale for the first week of the opening, you'll gain their attention quickly." "I'll take that into consideration, thank you." Victoria turned to leave, then liam spoke; "My mom wants to know if you could make it lunch tomorrow, it's sunday and...." "Your family's get together every last sunday of the month, i didn't forget liam." "So...will you make it?" Victoria sighed, "Only if you take me to the garden afterwards." "Done." "Then i'll come, i missed mrs hilton anyway." Victoria stopped by Mr Fletcher's office to ask about the house situation, she also wanted to drop her check for the payment of the store. "Victoria, how are you?" "Mrs fletcher, you're here." "Yes my dear, i came to drop some muffins for this old toot. He's always so busy, he doesn't remember to eat sometimes." "That's so sweet, mrs fletcher." "And how was your date last night?" mrs fletcher asked, then covered her mouth with her left hand. "Date?" "Oops, i wasn't supposed to asked that." Victoria laughed, "Mrs fletcher, it wasn't a date, it was just dinner with a friend." "Bestfriend you mean, you and liam have been childhood friends for as long as i can remember. You both should take it to the next level already." "Next level, how do you mean?" "You're obviously single, i see no ring. Liam is unmarried too, no serious relationships either, you are both a perfect match." "He hasn't been in any relationship?" "None that i'm aware of." "Mrs fletcher, i don't think liam sees me in that light, he'd seen and treated me as his little sister ever since we were kids." "But you both are no longer kids, I'm sure he sees you differently now. Use your charms on him dearest." Mrs fletcher said as she tapped victoria's shoulder and walked out. Victoria thought about liam never having a girlfriend for a second, she shook her head and walked in: 'What about the brunette i saw at his house six years ago when i came to inform him i was leaving town for good?' she thought. Knocking on mr fletcher's office, "Come in." he responded "Vicki." "Good afternoon mr fletcher." "Come sit dear, how are you doing?" "I'm fine, thank you." "You came about the house, didn't you?" "Yes mr fletcher." "I've been able to contact the couples, they said they do not want to sell." Victoria's shoulders slumped, "I could add an extra fee if they want." she said "I also suggested that too, they said they could rent it to you, If by the end of the year, you still insist on buying back the house, they would consider selling." "But that would cost me shortage to the money for the house." "I know, but you could make more from the shop to cover it up before then." Victoria sighed, "I guess you're right." she sighed again, she thought this was a better deal and if she made more from the shop, she could add an extra amount to convince them she was serious. She took out the check for the the shop and handed it to mr fletcher. "Oh no, you should be giving this to liam. He made payments this morning, i guess he didn't tell you." "No, he didn't." she fumed, "Thank you mr fletcher, so how do i get the keys to the house?" "They said they would contact me about that when you make your decision." "I already have." "Good, I'll see you at home tonight." She smiled, stood up and left his office after thanking him yet again. Victoria stormed towards liam's workshop, she noticed hers were finished and set but that didn't seal her anger. He barged into the workshop, liam had cut out a corner and turned it into an office with no door. "You didn't have to do that, you should have asked for my own part of the money before making payments." she spoke immediately she got in and saw liam writing on a book. "It's simple tori, you reimburse me then, you don't need to get cranky every time i make a harmless gesture." She pulled out the check from her purse and slammed it on the table, "Next time, you ask before assuming i need such gestures." Liam held her hand before she stood straight and leaned in so their faces were mere inches apart; "Next time, don't get so angry, it makes you look scary. Though cute but scary cute." he said then kissed her nose. Just like that, the anger dispersed and her face flushed; "It's hot in here." she said, using her hand to fan herself. Liam chuckled softly, he didn't feel hot but he said something to make her feel less embarrassed; "I'm sorry, i haven't fixed the air conditioner. Now i mentioned, let's go get those equipments together." "I would have suggested the same thing. I mean, not that i can't shop on my own but...." "It's fun to shop with company, i know." "Exactly, to get second opinions on items i'd love to purchase."
