Victoria arrived at the Hilton's residence for lunch the next day, Xander and Kristen were waiting at the porch, they enveloped her in a group hug when she came towards them. Liam and his younger brother, Alexander had their father's black hair and green eyes, xander was twice as charming and sexy as liam but she was never attracted to him one bit. Even when he made passes at her when they were kids. While Kristen had grayish hair and hazel eyes like her mother.
"Good afternoon Mrs Hilton." Victoria greeted when she walked into the house.
"Vicki, come here dear." the lady opened her arms and victoria hugged her, she had become older than the last time she saw her. "How have you been?" she asked as she led victoria to the dinner table.
"Good ma'am, what about you?"
"I'm getting old as you can see, but i'm strong enough to hold my grandkids whenever these three knuckleheads are ready to give me any."
"Mom!" Xander and Kristen called in unison.
"What?" mrs hilton called back, victoria chuckled.
"Tori," the voice came through the front door. "Don't let my mother scare you with all that talk about grandkids." Liam said, he gave his brother a manly hugged and toyed with kristen's hair, she frowned at him. He sat close to his mom and opposite victoria, his eyes pierced into her grey ones as he stretched his legs.
"I'm not trying to scare her, I'm only telling the truth. Xander decided to be solvang's playboy, while kristen still dresses like a tomboy, chasing all the men away. And liam neither has a girlfriend or even blinks at any lady at all." mrs hilton complained
"Mom!" The trio called this time, victoria laughed softly.
"Is this why you invited vicki for lunch? To bore her with these issues?" Kirsten asked, walking over with the bowl of salad.
"I'm sorry my child. They just drive me insane sometimes."
Victoria smiled at her, "It's okay mrs hilton, i understand."
"So tell me? Are you married?"
"Mom?" Liam's brows furrowed.
Victoria chuckled, "Not yet mrs hilton."
"Not you too. Not to worry, i have someone for you.
"I'm right here mom, i can have her." Xander said as he sat close to victoria, winking at her.
"Get your ass up and sit close to liam, kristen will have that seat." mrs hilton said, xander looked at liam who was already giving him a wicked smirk.
Mrs hilton continued, "He just returned from England and he's a doctor."
"Are you talking about your bestfriend's son? That guy doesn't deserve vicki, he's a honk." Kristen said, putting down the fried chicken on the table and heading back to the kitchen.
"Don't mind her, she just doesn't like him, just like she doesn't like any of the men i linked her up with."
"Maybe you should let tori, find her own man. Don't play matchmaker for her, she doesn't like it." liam said
"I can speak for myself liam." Victoria chipped in
"whooooo" xander made a sound with his hand cupping his mouth.
Liam turned to give him a killer look, "Don't you dare forget how close to me you're sitting." he said to his brother, who cleared his throat and carefully adjusted himself in his seat.
"So will you meet with him?" mrs hilton asked.
"I will mrs hilton."
"That's great."
"Great, you don't know what you've just agreed to." Kirsten whispered as she took her seat beside victoria.
"Let's see who runs away from who when the time comes." victoria whispered back, they giggled.
After lunch at the Hilton's, everyone said their goodbyes and they both drove to the garden just as planned. When she pulled up behind his truck, she walked towards the garden with a wide grin.
"Damn it liam, it looks more beautiful at daylight."
"Yeah, it does." he responded, his voice was icy and she knew he was angry. She stooped down and picked up an unwanted grass. "You don't need to do that, i can do it. Just like i always have."
She stood up, "Is something wrong? You sound angry." she said
"You agreed to go on a date with a stranger you don't even know, why won't i be upset."
Victoria bust into a loud laugh, she laughed so hard her tummy hurts and when she pulled herself together, he was smiling. She walked towards him; "You're so possessive, you're jealous right?"
"Why would i be?"
"Because you care so much about me and i'll be with another guy who's not you." She got closer to him, tiptoed and kissed his cheek. "I'll be fine. If i don't meet men, how do i get a husband?"
"Why do you need one?"
She gasped, "Liam, I'll be thirty in two days."
"And i'll be thirty-two on that same day, you don't see me going from one date to another." he argued. That reminded her of what mrs hilton said about his lack of interest in women. 'So who was the girl i saw that day i went to his house? Maybe they broke up?' she thought to herself.
"To earth tori." liam snapped his fingers in her face.
"Are you saying you don't want me to get married because you're not interested in marriage?" she asked abruptly, she felt a twinge of anger.
"No, i..i didn't say that." he raked his hair. "You know what, forget about this. Come in, let's have a glass of wine."
Victoria sighed, "You live here now?"
"Yeah."
"What about your old place?" they both got in, she went to sit on the couch while liam went into the kitchen. The place looked like a ranch house, big enough for a family.
"Xander moved in there years ago, i moved in here after my dad died. I made him buy this land from mr donalds, he was happy to because i volunteered to grow crops on it."
"Now it's yours."
"Yeah, now it's mine."
