Nehmetawy is an interesting goddess in that she"s not a very well known one. She"s generally considered to have appeared during the New Kingdom, but was most prevalent in the Greco-Egyptian period (Cleopatra"s time). She"s often associated with being the wife of Thoth when she is remembered, and is sometimes referenced in the myths of the Eye of Ra. The Distant Goddess, the myth I based Collector of Sand and Tears on, is often unclear about which goddess the Eye of Ra becomes. Some say Hathor, some say Sekhmet, others say Nehmetawy and some say yet more goddesses - often claiming they are the same deity. This is probably due to the nature of the Egyptian pantheon where different gods and goddesses had different roles depending where and when in the Egyptian empire they existed.
