The cool waters lap against my sun-warmed skin. On the one hand, it was glorious to be bathing in the Nile and to feel the power of the water throughout my entire body. On the other, it was more obvious than ever that something was seriously wrong. I couldn"t put my finger on precisely what it was, but the river felt off.
How were we supposed to fix this when it wasn"t obvious what the problem was?
Frustration welled up within me. As much as I tried to push it to the side so it didn"t overwhelm me, I just couldn"t find a way to. This felt impossible. And if we failed, there would be consequences for a lot of people. I didn"t want to be around to witness that. Not when it would mean death and famine throughout the land.
We had to fix this, there wasn"t an alternative.
