CHAPTER 32 VIOLET “Did you have to bring the bodyguard?” Trent asked. I glanced sideways to see whether Dawson had heard, but he was still in the kitchen, changing a washer on Mom’s leaky faucet. Trent had been waiting for me at Mom’s house when I got to Oakwood Falls, and his scowl as I walked in with Dawson had made his feelings quite plain even before he asked the question.
