SERAPHINA'S POV
I was pacing around in my bridal room, nervous and sweating. My hands curling around my locket for reassurance.
The door was suddenly opened and in came dad- as handsome as ever with a reassuring smile on his face.
As if knowing I was nervous, he put his hand on mine- the warmth comforting me.
"It's time my dear." He said, stretching his hand forward for me to grab.
Breathing in and out, I nodded with determination and latched onto his hand from support.
Slowly but knowingly, he guided out of the room and into the aisle.
HAYDEN'S POV
I stood at the altar, waiting impatiently for my supposed bride. What right did she have to be late? The thought vanished the instant I saw her.
An angel.
She walked toward me, radiant in white, her arm linked with her father’s. I tried to maintain my usual cold expression, but it was hard when she looked like that — delicate, breathtaking, unreal.
DUAL POV
Up close, her sapphire-blue eyes sparkled beneath the veil, her red hair glinting like ruby under the lights. Her red luscious lips were soft, her presence disarming.
He, on the other hand, was all sharp edges and quiet strength — his green eyes piercing, that small red mole near his left eye giving him an unexpected softness.
They were both frozen for a heartbeat, caught between awe and disbelief.
SERAPHINA'S POV
We continued to hold each other's gaze as I got to the alter and the priest started reading our vows.
PRIEST
Repeat after me. The groom. I [your name], take you, [her name], to be my lawfully wedded [wife], to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part."
SERAPHINA'S POV
Still holding my gaze he repeated the vows. I didn't know which emotion to put on right now if it was a flushed face, joy, or something else mixed together.
The priest's voice rang me out of my slumber as I took my own vows.
The ring bearer gave us the ring as we exchanged it.
PRIEST
By the power vested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride.
SERAPHINA'S POV
The long awaited hour arrived as silence reigned over the place. I personally didn't expect him to exchange the kiss. However, he proved me wrong. He lifted my veil slowly, his green eyes burning into mine. Bending to my height, he slowly pressed his lips to mine as the crowd erupted with cheers and applause - especially from his parents.
His lips still on mine turned passionate and steamy as I tried to catch my breath. A thick line separated from us as we finally parted lips.
The easy part was over, the worse was yet to come.
We waved to the crowd stepping down for part two of the event.
