Toxicity

223 Words
I remember when I wrote this. I was seventeen and my boyfriend at the time wanted to change who I was. I'm built hefty, but I was never fat. I played soccer in High School and was in very good shape. But, toxic people will want to mold you to their own belief of what perfection is.  Now I can see It was never meant to be I began to understand That you had a dark plan You wanted me to change So I broke that hinge I love who I am now I will never bow down No one can make me change I refuse to be caged! I will always be me and I choose to run free I never asked you to change I never ushered you into a cage So what makes you think I would? And the minute you said I should You crossed my line I realized you're not worth my time I am sorry it ended like this But it was either words, or my fist What you said was really messed But, I am no longer pissed I will not change for anyone I know I will find someone Who will accept me for me So, this is the end you see? I will remain your friend As for our relationship, this is the end.
