She won’t admit it, but I know why Nell isn’t on the same Jack train that I’m on: she just doesn’t get it.
To Nell, Jack is nothing like me. When she met me, I was the bad boy—the exiled dragon prince who no one from the King of Darkness to the Queen of Light wanted under their roof. I was powerful, brave, and—if I can flatter myself here—charming.
