Elira pulled her hood up to cover half of her face inside the car, Imogene was seated in the passenger’s seat, eyes and mind calculating as she scanned the area called ‘the dark wood’ that they had just arrived in.
“Felt like she just left.” Imogene stated. “I was about to say the same thing.” Elira replied. They faced each other, nodded in unison then pulled the car doors open and alighted.
The area was dead silent but there were lights around that illuminated the vast lone area.
“I still can’t believe her powers did that to us all. Silas is still immobile.” Imogene said, her breath producing cold puffs.
