Before the magic could hit Garrick, Elira held out hers to stop Imogene’s. The fire died instantly and Imogene’s magic retreated. Her breathing turned labored as her head jerked towards Elira.
“You dared stop me?” She snapped at Elira who met her hard gaze with the same intensity.
Garrick inserted his arrows back into his back and crossed the short space between them to stop in front of a livid Imogene. “You know you can’t kill me, stop trying.” Garrick said to her in his usual arrogant tone.
Imogene turned back to him, her anger piqued. “I can now, Garrick. I will blow you up till you turn into unrecognizable ashes and all that would be left of your legacy is lies.” Her tongue went hard on the last word.
