Finally seeing

"Dr. Myers your needed on floor 10 room 1003, Dr. Myers your needed on floor 10 room 1003" I sighed hearing the intercom going off while I was eating my already late lunch, I put everything up and threw some of the trash that had accumulated in the past 15 minutes.

"you have it pretty harsh, don't you Lynn? " said my only close friend Lily who was also a doctor in the same ward and safe zone as me., she patted me on the back softly and held her thumbs up. "Good luck I heard the 10th floor is for possibly infected people," she whispered softly.

"I doubt that WIC would never allow anyone who might be infected into these walls," I shook my head in denial and disbelief that she would say such thing to me knowing how loyal I'm to WIC. "I have to go Lily I will see you after work so we can walk home together," I waved goodbye and headed to an elevator.

I ended up using the employee elevator to save some time and put in the code and pressed button 10 as I tried to finish the chicken wrap I was supposed to enjoy during lunch am now trying to eat quickly. Just as I finished my hasty lunch, the elevator doors beeped and started opening to reveal a face that was twisted into an ugly sneer.

": Dr. Myers care to explain what was so important that you took 10 minutes to get here from the café area," said Dr. Jacob Masters as he looked down his nose at me. "Keep begin late like this and the higher ups will start to regret giving you the best doctor award for 2 years running." He scoffed with a shake of his head.

"I don't care to explain actually since it was my first break all day I was quite confused as to why they would be calling me when there is you, Dr. Masters." I smiled innocently and took a step closer to him, my eyes bearing straight into him " Then I remembered that I'm the best because I'm not a lazy good-for-nothing f**k who sleeps with the heads daughter in empty patient rooms." I turned and walked to room 1003.

"Ah, Dr. Myers your finally here we are terribly sorry for interrupting your lunch like that but its quite important" said June head nurse for this floor, she kept glancing at the closed door with a strange expression on her face I couldn't quit put my finger on it.

"it's okay Nurse June I understand the importance may I ask what it is I will probably encounter in the room" my heart was pounding fast, my nerves where shot through the roof, what Lily had said earlier suddenly popped into my head about infected people flask backs of seeing my family being torn into blood spraying my face. 

"Lynn dear are you okay your pale all of a sudden," Junes sweet voice brought me back to the present, "Yes Yes I'm fine sorry about that June my mind strayed away from me for some reason," my voice was a little weak but I put a smile on my face, nonetheless.

"Anyway, Dr. Myers it seems on a forage early this morning a group had encountered a survivor and he was brought back in restraints and at the request of the heads we brought you in," June said softly and turned around to unlock the door as I was barley noticing a guard sitting down on a chair next to the door.

"Why was he in restraints, June?" I asked carefully as I stepped over to her and took the keys from her shaking hands. "Well, it seems that our John doe was bitten 5 times, and they all healed normally like an ordinary wound would," she said softly, watching me unlock the door. "W-what, 5 times" my shock was noticeable as was my fear.

She nodded and grabbed the keys from me; she walked away, her eyes looking down at her feet. I took a deep breath and tried to put on a calm facade. "Hello, I'm Dr. Myers I will be attending to you, today" I spoke softly while walking in and looking up to see a very, disheveled handsome face.

 He looked at me a glare that i know so well from giving it to receiving it I flinched and walked towards the gloves we kept in a corner by the door and grabbed some after washing my hands "I will be taking some blood samples to test and make sure you are not infected for the safety of the zone and its people" I said grabbing a clean needle and blood tubes.

"And what if it does not come out the way you and your people want," a raspy husky voice said i looked up from prepping the needle and looked into his blue eyes. "That guard outside would he come in and put a bullet into my brain while i sit here defenseless of would I be a lab rat for you to dissect and put back together," he snapped making me flinch.

 I took a deep breath and spoke softly "We would quarantine you with your permission of course, if not we would let you out free to roam the world of course if you choose to stay we would study how long it would take to turn, and how long it would take to decompose, and or starve of course we would need signed permission", I explained to him while wiping the crook of his elbow and tying the rubber around his bicep.

He looked at my face i assume to find any reason to not believe me and sighed loudly "My name is Austin clear" he muttered so softly I thought I was just hearing things "Well Mr. Clear i will be taking 3 tubes of blood today and after that the guard outside will unlock the cuffs to let you shower" I said and started taking blood.

I finished up quickly and packed everything away and took off my gloves, and washed my hands before walking to the door "Have a nice day Mr. Clear I hope everything works out for you" I walked out and nodded to the guard Mike before closing the door.
