Chapter 4

Jane POV: He is right, you know, even if it hurts me to admit it, what he just uttered is entirely accurate. It’s always been my dream to travel the world, but I’ve barely set foot outside New York. Motives were more than enough, probably none legit or with the quality of an unshakable validation. Lame excuses to play it safely, I’ve said it before, I’m a dull person. “Do you need anything? A light meal was ordered for you in advance, we can serve it to you now or a bit later, whenever you feel like eating.” The smiling face along with the polite tone of the flight assistant broke my train of thoughts. “Meal?” I narrow my eyes and shake my head in disagreement, at no point with the intention of being mannerless. “No, I’ve ate recently, I’m not hungry, thank you!” I add, forcing a smile in response to her cordial proposal. How considerate of him, he arranged everything from transportation, meals, hosting, clothing and not forget about the spa for my pets. This must be similar to experience spoiling from a man. I’ve been independent all my life, even in my marriage, so I wouldn’t know. Yet, interesting. I’ve never thought I’ll be the kind to enjoy this sort of pampering, but I am. “Mister Holmes warned to prepare your favorite, beef stroganoff. So please call whenever you’ll have appetite for it.” “He did?” My stomach did a little flip flop. “Anyway, let’s just wait for him too.” I was not aware that little background checks also include inquiring about favorite foods. Doesn’t seem to bother me that he went this far. “No, no worries for him, he has well defined meal schedule.” She declares. So it’s true, he must spend half of his time in this plane. Can’t miss the way she talks about him, her matter of speaking screams well founded care and admiration. He must be a great employer, or perhaps a lover, one of those two for sure, possibly both. She is most certainly a gorgeous woman, the uniform she wears can be regarded as an outfit from erotic fantasies. Something whirls inside me at this idea, one may confuse this feeling with a form of jealousy, but clearly this is not the case. I wonder how he is as a lover, considerate and chivalrous, the way he has been with me since we’ve met, or wild and lascivious, the type his strong and manly features suggest. Either way, I bet he’s definitely passionate and insatiable. Jane, please, for the sake of God, stop all this nonsense about your stepbrother! Yes, brother! Please, snap out of this day dreaming, you’re already feverish with desire! “Are you not feeling well?” He appeared from nowhere, don’t know if he’s reading my mind, but his question made me blush in double measure. I’m wrapping my mind on things of no importance, probably this is how my brain is coping with the whole situation with my father’s accident. “Yes, I’m fine.” I add and look aside, he’s taking a seat in the cozy chair in front of me. “Fasten your seatbelt, we’ll be taking off now.” He warns and I diligently comply. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About three hours passed since we have reached cruise altitude, I’ve read all available magazines after I’ve finished studying intensely the elegant black and white interior of the plane. I’ve even considered doing some work, as Stephan did ever since the plane departed. He’s been studying files and taking notes on his laptop, if he is aware that I exist, he’s doing a great job hiding it. His ability to focus in these nerve-wracking conditions instigates me to examine him with a tint of admiration for I am unable to do the same. Stephan POV: “If you want to get some rest, the sleeping accommodations are in the rear of the plane. Plus you’ll find a bathroom equipped with a hot tub and a shower, in case you need to refresh a bit.” I state breaking the uncomfortable silence. I’ve been struggling to concentrate on my work ever since we left the ground. I’ve been reading a report over and over again, not understanding a word from it. Her presence makes rational thinking an unachievable milestone. She’s under no circumstances trying to catch my attention, unlike all the other women I’ve shared a space with. The fact that she genuinely shows no interest is precisely the element that keeps me distracted, as weird as it may seem. Women constantly offer themselves on a tray with no effort whatsoever from my part. Those women are eager to sleep their way to high society. Not her, she is not like that. “I might, but not at the moment.” She casually responded, her eyes of cautious shade. What, is she thinking that I’ll jump on her in the shower? I could potentially. Trying to picture how her body looks without those baggy clothes was an unresolved task that remained on the back of my brain from the first moment I’ve laid my eyes on her, a detail that made my member hard multiple times today. I’ve hoped that she will leave my sight so I’ll be able to do my job, with the recent events, my work was delayed and my business partners don’t take justifications of private matters, as I wouldn’t either. How would she look with the legs tangles around my body, with her eyes shining with lusting need and her core craving to be taken, desiring something only I can provide? My composure is shattering into a million pieces, I need to retreat from here and I need to do it without delay! In fact, if I don’t leave her presence now, I won’t take responsibility for what can happen. “Then you don’t mind if I go first.” I’m going to attempt cooling myself in the shower. “Not at all.” She adds, oblivious to the things she’s done to my figure. I leave the room and go straight under the cold water, to help with chilling out both my head and my body. It’s working. With no warning and for the first time in its existence, the plane started spinning like a roller coaster ride, it’s hard to keep your balance. Jane, she’s in danger! We both are, us and the crew too! I jump out of the shower in an instant, head to the place I’ve left her, only to find her on the edge of a mental breakdown. “Breathe… come on, try to breathe normally!” I try to convince her, yet it’s a difficult process for me too. “Look me in the eyes and breathe! Everything is going to be all right, I promise!” I normally avoid lies at all costs, not this time. The rest of the crew is locked in the pilot cabin, I’ve checked. “W-we are going to die! I-I’m so scared! I don’t want to die, I want to live and love and … and… do anything I’ve never had the opportunity to do!” She cries out amid sobs, pressing my elbow tightly, while gazing into my eyes with pure fear, causing my protective instincts to skyrocket. I take her in my arms and carry her in the king-size bed from the room in the back of the plane. If we are going to die, so be it, but we will do it in a heavenly way.
