Chapter Two Keith's POV I had not meant to be rude to Laurie's little friend. I was bummed out that another date had flopped. When by now I thought Keith Partridge would be working on getting married. Or having kids by now. Was that so hard to believe? I wanted a family of my own one day. I think that I went through all the women in this town. Now there were no more to date. I needed to move out of town. Or as I said before forget women for now. Lay off them a bit. Focus on getting my life on track. That Harmony girl was very pretty. No, I would not stoop so low as to try to date a friend of Laurie's. It was just Harmony was so easy going to talk to back there. She actually listened to me. Did not ask me about being a star. Treated me normal. Like a human being. That was nice. But then again, she grew up around us. If I recalled she used to have a thing for me. She was always following me around when those puppy dog eyes. Hoping that I would notice her. I was so fed up with her one afternoon that Danny and I were making fun of her. I felt bad about that but she never heard me talk bad about her though. I just got frustrated by her was all. A lot of Laurie's friends often had crushes on me. I was used to that. Laurie even lost a few friends because they chose to date me. I later felt bad about it when it ended bad. And then they ended the friendship with my sister. I could not date Harmony. Ever. She and Laurie were close. And I could not ruin that for my sister. Not that Harmony would want to date a loser like me. Sure, I had my tv show going strong. But I had not broke free of the Partridge image like I wanted. I had not been covered on the Rolling Stone cover yet like I wanted to do. When was the last time our record hit number one on the chart? At least the Partridge show was heading into season 7 on tv. Not like the Brady's who were grasping straws. They had the Brady Bunch Variety hour. Things were changing as we soon were going to be heading into the 80's era now. Jan Brady was doing tv movies so they had a new Jan on tv with the family. It was odd to see. I hoped that never happened to our family. It would be nice for a new romance to flaunt for the tv show. Then have Keith get married would rake in the views. Maybe Harmony would be willing to play a girl on tv for me? Or we could hire one. I would talk to my producers about that. I was not getting any younger. My child star status was soon going to fail me. Danny to one day. I grab my old yearbook from high school out from my closet. I flip through to Laurie's grade. I find the photo of Harmony there. She sure was chubby back then. She always used to make the best brownies though. She always was getting good grades. She offered to help me with her homework. A time or two she did my homework when I was too tired from parties to do it. I paid her too though. She was a very sweet girl. One who should stay the hell away from me. Far away from me. ♡♪♬♪♡ "Keith you were really rude to my friend. We are having dessert. Please come down and join us" Laurie demands as she comes barging into my room. "Fine" I agree as I set the yearbook down. "What?" She was shocked I agreed with her. "I was rude. I was in a bad mood. I am sorry" I apologize. Laurie looks pleased. "Thanks, that means a lot to me. You know Harmony always looked up to you. I would hate for that to be tarnished" she mentions before heading downstairs. She was right about that. Time for Keith to change. I check my image out in the mirror before heading downstairs. "Sorry I stormed off. I was in a bad mood" I admit to everyone. Harmony's pretty eyes light up when she spots me enter the living room. It was nice to see a girl fawn all over me again like that. I make sure to take Laurie's spot beside her on the couch and sit down. Laurie looks less then pleased. ♡♪♬♪♡ "I am glad you decided to join us" Harmony tells me. "I have had a really bad week" I admit. "More like a bad year" mutters Danny with a mouth full of brownie. "Shut up" I hiss a warning at him. "Things will look up. Here are a plate of my world-famous brownie's" brags Harmony. "Remember when your brownies sold like hot cakes at the bake sales?" asks Laurie. "they were always the fast to go. And when Keith tried to buy some then, they were gone in a blink of an eye" laughs Laurie. "Because I told the football team, he liked them. They all wanted to try them" laughs Danny. "Little jack a*s!" I mutter. "Language Keith" mom points out as she glares at me. "Well, we are not the squeaky clean little family we are on tv mom. We do not have to be censored" I laugh. I shake my head. I take a brownie. "I can drink a beer if I want to" "And buy more for the fridge when you should replace it" mom points out. "Sorry I will pick some more up" I promise her. "You drink?" mutters Harmony. "Yes" I laugh. "Me to. But only on weekends" she admits. "Well look at you" laughs Laurie. "I like a drink once in awhile but not all the time" she tells us. "And a pizza to go with it" I say. "Or tacos" she says. "maybe both" "I like the way you think" I chuckle. I soon am polishing off another brownie. "Like the brownies Keith?" teases Tracy. "or maybe something else?" my little sister jokes. I blush a bit. "Shut up" "The brownies are as great as always" I brag on Harmony. "Thank you, Keith," Harmony replies as a light blush appears in her pretty cheekbones. "Harmony need a drink?" offers Laurie. "Some tea would be fantastic" says Harmony. "Come help me in the kitchen Keith" demands Laurie. ♡♪♬♪♡ I let my leg lightly brush along the side of Harmony's as I get up off the couch. Then wink over at her before following Laurie into the kitchen. Laurie puts a pot of water on the stove to make some warm tea. "Tone it down lover boy" she hisses a warning at me. "What?" I scoff. "You know what you are doing out there. And you know very well that my friend used to have a thing for you" warns Laurie. "Used to? She clearly still does" I laugh. "I mean it Keith. She is a good friend. Do not ruin this. I am going to move in with her" Laurie informs me. "I am not doing anything" I lie. I get out the glasses to go with the tea she was making. "I know flirting and Keith Partridge that was flirting" she warns me softly so no one can hear us arguing. "Fine so what if I was?" I say with a smile. "I am single and I did not see a ring on her finger" "You hurt her again there will be hell to pay!" warns Laurie sternly. I frown. "Again? When had I ever hurt Harmony?" I ask. "Can I help you both?" offers Harmony as she comes in the room. We shut up. "Sure, you can" offers Laurie. "grab those glasses and carry them out for me. The hot water will be done soon" "Is there anything else to discuss Laurie dear?" I flash Laurie a fake smile. "No" she pouts. Harmony gives us an odd look. "Here let me get that door for you" I offer to Harmony. I get the kitchen door for her to carry the tea glasses out there. Laurie is not thrilled. She had nothing to worry about. I already made up my mind nothing was going to happen with Harmony. But it was still fun to mess with your little sister. It serves her right for butting into my business. ♡♪♬♪♡♪♬♪♡♪♬♪♡♪♬♪♡
