Chapter6-Confused

“What is going on here ?” I asked, my voice shaking with fear.

Stella's angry, accusing eyes locked on mine as she entered the room. Her expression was mixed with anger and pain, and the tension in the room was so thick it could cut through a knife.

"Stella, please calm down," Alpha Morgan began, taking a step towards her. But he interrupted her and his voice rose.

"Calm down? How can I stay calm when you've been ignoring me all the time?" She shouted, her eyes burning with anger.

"You knew I was in the accident just like Helena, but you only cared about her!"

Morgan's face was stern, his eyes filled with a mixture of guilt and a kind of stress

“Stella, I was told you are doing well. I checked on you, but you were unconscious. I-"

But she couldn't allow him to finish.

"You are lying!" She spat, her voice cracking and tears streaming down her face.

“You were here , coming to check up on only Helena, you have been in her ward for a very long time, Morgan.” She said and sniffed.

“I know you have been holding her hands and whispering sweet nothings. But I? You never cared whether I lived or not. “

I stared at Stella and then back at Alpha Morgan.

Oh, I am getting it now.

It was a love battle.

I sighed, the Grim Reaper hadn't explained this to me very well, he never told me I would be in a fierce battle with another woman over the love of the Alpha.

This wasn't funny.

"That's not right," Morgan protested as he approached her.

'I was here with you. I was afraid you might wake up suddenly, you needed the rest, Stella.”

I watched Stella shake her head, and her sobs turned into loud mocking laughter.

“No, Morgan. You're here because you think Helena is carrying your child. But it's all lies. "

She spat and I could feel piercing pairs of eyes look my way, I wished I had just vanished into thin air.

A stunned silence fell over the room. Ivana and Queen Luna were stunned; I could see the Alpha looking my way his eyes darted back and forth between Stella, and me.

My heart was pounding in my chest and I felt the blood running down my face.

What was I going to say now?

Should I just tell them that I'm not Helena or just play along?

The air was thick with tension, everyone was waiting for me to say something.

I darted my eyes hoping to see the Grim Reaper, he should freaking come to my rescue.

Then without thinking, I did it, I played along to avoid every kind of stress.

"What are you talking about?" Morgan asked in a near whisper voice.

Stella looked at me, her eyes burning with hatred and anger.

“ Helena's not pregnant, Morgan. You are wrong. All of you have been deceived ."

Queen Luna let her gaze dwell on me.

“I do not want to believe that Stella is telling the truth, Helena .” She said in an icy tone.

What was I going to say?

Gracious Heavens.

The room shook as Stella's words penetrated the room once more, bouncing against the walls.

“Stella, this isn't true,” I managed to say in a trembling voice, deciding to play along.

"I'm pregnant."

Stella laughed again, with a loud and cheerful voice.

“I hired someone who dug deep. He showed me the correct medical records. “

She finished and gave me a look of victory.

Oh, s**t, more trouble for me.

“But…” Alpha Morgan stammered m

“No, honey, It was all a lie. “

Morgan looked at me, his eyes wide and confused.

“Helena, is this true?” I nodded nervously, tears streaming down my face. 'No, Morgan. I swear I'm pregnant. I don't know what Stella is talking about.'"

“She's not telling the truth," Stella whispered.

'You're fooling us all, Helena. You and your family always got what you wanted, it's so bad of you “

I had decided to play along and I was getting deep into the web of confusion.

What was I even thinking when I decided to play along?

I should have kept my big mouth shut, I have had enough for one day.

But what if Helena was pregnant and as I was inhabiting her body, the best I could do was to help her out, right?

Morgan stepped back, a pained expression on his face.

"Helena, I... I don't know what to believe."

I said, “You have to believe me, Morgan.”

He stared at me like I had grown another mouth at the top of my head

“Stella, this is not the place, for you to discuss such things.” Ivana who had been watching everything without saying a word interjected.

“You shouldn't stoop so low to argue with her.” She finished by giving me a hard-sided look.

Morgan stood looking at both of us, what was I to do?

I had received a rude welcome and now I was accused of lying about being pregnant.

Life has been unfair to me if I spill it all out.

How was I going to tame this wild, ever-angry Alpha?

They laughed at me.

They won't even believe me.

And that also includes going back to meet the Grim Reaper because I was surely going to turn up dead, no second chance, no nothing.

The Grim Reaper, that bony creature was going to be mad at me.

“So you have been deceiving, all of us .” The Queen Luna said.”I should have known.”

I swallowed hard and my chest began to tighten.

“I'm…I'm so sorry, I …I didn't know I was pregnant.”

If words were enough to raise the dead, I'm quite sure I could have raised billions of souls.

The looks they gave me were enough to c***k the walls.

“What nonsense are you saying.” Morgan roared at me, I could see flames of anger dancing in his eyes.

I squirmed, this was the first time I had seen him this angry since meeting him just a few hours ago.

“Calm your nerves, brother.” Ivana said.”She is not worth it.”
