Too much silence filled the house. I didn't have to reply to Caleb, I knew what would happen when I got angry, the whole town would have a hard time separating us if we start fighting.
To distract myself, I checked her pulse more than I should have and ran for water while Caleb positioned the pillow . Her breathing was normal.
No fever. There were no bruises. But she looked so pale. Almost white.
“ She's just tired.” Caleb said standing over her like a f*****g knight
I didn't react. I could sense my inner beast pacing. She had collapsed due to something. And it was more than just tension. There was more to it and now I was blaming myself for asking her to come to the cafe.
