Flounder
I almost break down into tears when Claudette asks me what happened. Taking a couple of deep breaths, I reply to her mindlink.
"I failed you, Claudette. I wanted to be the one to come and save you like a hero, but I got caught the moment I jumped out of my window and began to run."
"Flounder, you could never fail me. I am proud of the man you are becoming. You are strong, and yet so kind."
This time I don't hold back my tears. I love my sisters so much, and I feel like I should be the one protecting both of them. Claudette has always been the one to protect us, so I wanted to do the same for her. To hear her say she's proud of me is a big deal and I will always cherish those words.
"Thank you, Claudette. I love you and I want you to get out of here, no matter what."
