Chapter Eight -

Melinda’s POV

After being shown to our rooms, I make sure I am ready quickly for the feast, I need to speak with Adaline before we go down, I need to tell her about when will be best for the mating marks to be done, I forgot to when we spoke last. I teleport into Adaline’s rooms, and oh my sweet heavens, she has the most beautiful rooms! I head towards the bedroom and knock “Who the hell thinks they can just barge in and knock on my bedroom door as if it’s the main door.. Melinda, sorry” she chuckles as she says my name. “It’s more than okay Ada, how come you aren’t dressed?” “Because there’s still an hour left before I need to be” Ada laughs “What’s up anyway?” “Well, I need to talk to you about the mating marks,” I say quietly. She looks up at me and narrows her eyes. “I know, I know, you don’t plan on it yet, but in 2 weeks it’s your birthday and you’ll probably get your wolf, then two weeks after that it’s the summer solstice and blood moon the same night. It will be the perfect time due to you being a hybrid, a lot can change in a month and I needed to make sure you knew.” I say apologetically. I know it’s not what she wants to hear and I hope Elijah can win over her heart in a month. It will be the perfect time as her witch's power will be at one of its strongest and her wolf will have one of the best moons to cement their bond with Elijah.

Adaline’s POV

Oh for goodness sake! I was in a good mood why did Melinda have to ruin it with talks of the mating mark? I don’t want to think about that yet. And I certainly cannot tell Elijah about it when he doesn’t know I’m a hybrid. Urgh. I leave Melinda standing at the door and walk back in to grab some clothes, I’m thinking black. All black. No maybe a little red, I pick up some black leather trousers, my chunky heeled boots, and a red Lacey bra already fitted in a bodysuit, I’ll grab my leather biker jacket off the sofa on the way out. “Melinda you don’t have to stand there like a statue, come in, you can help with my makeup if you like, I’m not mad at you, I just have a lot to process,” I say, she smiles and starts raiding the makeup to pick stuff out for me. I miss this, getting ready to go out and do things, Melinda is so much fun. Forty-five minutes later we are en route to the feast, I couldn’t tell you how many people stared as we went past, “maybe looking like a sexy warrior wasn’t the best option Ada” Melinda says “They don’t know whether to drool or run away” she laughs as someone hides. “That’s the reason I did it” I chuckle, she shakes her head at me. As we arrive in the gardens the mingling before food has already begun, Amos beckons me over. “Adaline, I’d like you to meet my Beta, Zane, and my Gamma, Igor” I smile politely and shake their hands, “nice to meet you boys” they chuckle in return. “You are a delight to the eyes my dear, I don’t know whether to stand and drool or run and hide to the biggest rock I can get under” Zane laughs heartily. I know I’ll get along with him well. “I smile and reply, “Well that’s the whole point, if the enemy comes now they won’t know what to do either” we all laugh. “I see we are all having fun without me,” Elijah says as he walks up to us, “well that’s the only time we do have fun buddy” replies Igor. Elijah pretends to pout and be shot by an arrow and we all laugh some more. I wonder if these guys are always jokesters, that’ll be fun if they are.

Lianna’s POV

I watch as Adaline and Elijah laugh and joke with Igor, Zane and Amos, it warms my heart, they look so good together, I know she’ll fit in perfectly, these two will unite the vampires, werewolves and witches beyond belief and create so much good and peace together I can feel it. I hope my daughter can find her mate quickly and that they will be as perfect for each other. Speaking of, I turn around ready to look for her and tada as she appears from nowhere. “Aurora, where have you been my love?” I ask, “I couldn’t find the right outfit mam” she replies, I smile. “You look beautiful, would you like to meet her?” “Please” We start walking over to Adaline and the men and I can sense Aurora fussing at her clothes until she sees Adaline properly. I’m glad Adaline wears trousers more than dresses, I think it’ll be the confidence booster Aurora needs. “Adaline, I’d like you to meet Aurora, my daughter,” I say, I see Ada’s features soften into a beautiful and welcoming smile. I know she will be amazing with her, “Hello Aurora, I love your outfit!” Ada says, “Come let’s go girly talk, how old are you?” “17,” Aurora says. “Old enough for a small drink then, let’s go girl” Ada replies, and off they swoop chatting animatedly. “Wow mam, Aurora loves her already” Elijah smiles. We watch for at least half of the feast while the girls chat animatedly and walk around talking to people, Ada seems softer with Rory, less warrior-like, it’s beautiful to see.

Aurora’s POV

Being with Ada has been amazing! She doesn’t treat me like a child and she’s so funny, I hope she stays for a long time, it’s nice to talk to another princess who knows how hard it can be, though Ada has such a calmness about her I don’t think she’s ever found it hard, she’s just ploughed through. I’ve had so much fun so far, I can’t wait for more, and when I get my wolf hopefully I can run almost as fast and she can come for runs in the forest. I can’t wait to find my mate too, I know Elijah is her mate and neither of them knows that I know, but I’m good at keeping secrets, I’m so excited to see Elijah finally happy. He’s been huffing and puffing about since Erica didn’t want to break up but he had enough of her treating me like s**t. Oh dear, oh no no no, speak of the devil and the devil shall appear, who on earth let Erica come to the welcome feast? She’s walking straight towards us, oh my goodness. I see Ada must have noticed my uncomfortableness cause she’s sat to attention now, looking at me curiously, I whisper, “I’ll explain to her afterwards but please don’t believe anything she says” Ada nods and we both turn our heads just in time for Erica to stop at our table...
