Adaline’s POV
The Silver Stream pack kingdom is almost as large as my father's as we arrive, the castle is beautiful, in a different way to my father's, ours is an ancient castle and any outside modifications have been done to keep it within its age. Amos castle isn’t quite as old but is still medieval. It’s a lot warmer here, so I will be very glad to put a pair of shorts on once we are shown to our rooms. I’ve spent the full journey just watching out the window, thankfully I was led to a car with Marius and a few more of my warriors, as awful as it sounds I wasn’t in the mood to have a journey full of small talk with the Luna Queen.
The car slowly comes to a stop in their large courtyard, we step out and instantly hear a ruckus. “It’s the east side, go, go, go!!” Someone says I look over to see Amos. “What’s happening?” I ask. “Rogues are attacking the eastern border,” he says. I turn back to the car open the boot and pull out my bow and arrows. “Mindlink them and tell them not to attack me, I will help” “Ada you don’t have to” “I want to Amos, may I touch your hand whilst your mind links them?” I ask. “Of course, but why?” He says looking a little confused. “I will then be able to speak with them as you do” he looks at me shocked but nods his head.
Once he’s finished mind-linking them, I run after the last two I saw leave, I can hear them all directing each other as they fight, and I overtake quite a few on my way. Since they don’t know I can hear them I hear their shock at how quick I am, haha they do not realise how quick I can be. After two minutes I am at the border, something that takes the wolves four minutes, I’ve beaten their record that’s cool. I’ve already started letting loose some arrows and took about 6 rogues out, not dead in case they want prisoners but enough they’ll wake up in a few hours in a cell. As I jump up onto a branch I stow my bow and remaining arrows and jump into the fray to get rid of some of the vampires. Within a minute I’ve taken at least 6 out, 4 dead and 2 unconscious. Within the next two minutes, they retreat in surrender. That’ll be a job well done then. I look around to make sure there aren’t any hiding and hear the wolves debating and trying to decide who should shift so they may speak with me. *no one needs to shift don’t worry* I send out and they all look shocked. I love this effect. *who will be carrying the unconscious back, and who is wounded?* I ask. *Eva, Daryl, Oliver, Leo, Cassidy, Astrid, Theo and Xander grab the unconscious. Ingrid, Ophelia, Aro and Brent are the only injured* a voice replies, they’ve all parted to let me see the injured, I look at the first wolf and check him over. “You need to shift, or your leg won’t heal properly I say” he starts to shift and whimpers in pain, once he’s back to normal I grab two sticks and make him a stint, it will be healed within the next 5 minutes. The next two are very deep wounds, I apply some salve, which I always keep in my back pocket and they start knitting back together a lot quicker. The last one is fairly bad, with claws having dug straight into the chest, I think they may have nicked a lung or the heart. I take off the jumper I’ve been wearing to apply pressure, and the poor wolf passes out due to the pain.
It works well for me though as she transforms back into her human form. I slowly pick her up so her chest will be resting on my back, the wolf with the broken leg has managed to hobble to a tree and grab some clothes and a blanket, he helps me wrap the blanket around the woman so she is protected from any branches that may fly back. “Her name is Ingrid,” he says, “and I am Brent, thank you” I nod my head and start running to get back to the castle.
Lianna’s POV
Our car was around four minutes slower than the one that Adaline was in, so when we arrived she was already finishing up with the warriors on the border. Elijah wanted to go to, but we told him to wait. We stood waiting for all the warriors to come back when we saw a blur of movement, she was fast! Adaline comes over to us “We need a healer and hospital bed for Ingrid, do not remove her off my back until the healer is here. I go over and put my hand on Ingrid’s back, she has a couple of scratches on her heart but she’ll live, she’ll have a week in the infirmary. We lead Adaline and Ingrid up to the infirmary, thanking her the full way for joining in the fight. “It’s no problem, Lianna, I was just doing what was necessary.” She says, once we get there the healer asks Adaline to slowly lay Ingrid on the bed so she can keep the pressure on her wound, the moment Adaline’s back leaves Ingrid’s front the healer's hands are straight over the wound, Adaline's grabs some gauze and bandages and a salve out her back pocket and begins to help the healer, whilst myself, Amos and Elijah stand in shocked awe at how practised she is. Once Ingrid is safely bandaged the healer thanks Adaline and says she is welcome to come and help out whenever she so wishes. She smiles and nods her head. “I didn’t know you were such an avid healer Adaline,” I say, she smiles again “I am full of surprises, but my father wanted me to be trained in every possible way” she replies. I smile, and know that her being here will only help the pack.
Amos’ POV
As soon as we have finished in the infirmary I ask Lianna to show Adaline to her rooms, which I’ve strategically placed next to Elijah’s. “Elijah I need a few words with you in my office if you don’t mind” I say, as I head out and down the hall. Once we are in the office I sit at my chair and pour us both a drink. “I know Adaline is your mate.” I say, straight to the point. “What? How?” Elijah says shocked. “Alexander told me and he knows too, he’s fine with it, but there are prophecies about it all and things that you’ll have to know. Once Adaline has told you what her father has told her, I will speak with her to see if she would prefer to tell you about the prophecies or if she would prefer me too.” I sigh “Don’t be disheartened by the prophecies, everything that’s meant to be, will come to be Elijah, now off you go, grab a shower there’ll be a big feast in an hour to welcome our guests.”
