Episode 4 - He Won't Let Go

309 Words
The moment lasted forever. Zio Francesco was still holding Dalila's hand. He squeezed it gently, but he was completely paralyzed, staring into her amber eyes without letting go. He couldn't. Dalila noticed the intense look of the man and the fact that he wasn't releasing her hand. A spark, immediate and powerful, shot between the two of them. Her heart started beating fast. Paola noticed the hypnotized look of her uncle and decided to intervene to break the ice. She knew her uncle too well. She took Dalila under her arm, smiling. "Uncle! Look, Dalila has faced an endless journey and she must be exhausted! She absolutely needs to rest and eat something. Let's go immediately to have lunch!" Zio Francesco cleared his throat, embarrassed, finally letting go of Dalila's hand. "Ehm... yes, of course. Let's go." CUT TO: INT. LUXURY RESTAURANT - A LITTLE LATER A luxurious marble table, crystals, and a mix of refined Chinese and Italian dishes. The city skyline sparkled outside the windows. Paola was talking non-stop, happy to have her two favorite people together. But Francesco couldn't take his eyes off Dalila. He watched her eat, talk, laugh with that fierce Neapolitan accent. Every gesture drove him crazy. Dalila, completely unaware of the effect of her words, sipped her coffee, proud and independent. "Uncle, I tell you clearly," she said with a sly smile, crossing her arms. "I came here to work, not to find a husband. I am a convinced single woman. My independence is everything to me." Francesco stared at her with a mix of jealousy and possessiveness, while she sipped her coffee. He smiled to himself. That independence was exactly what was making him fall in love like never before. He knew one thing for sure: this proud Neapolitan girl was going to turn his entire perfect, controlled life upside down.
