The next few weeks are as wonderful as the first day back with Kieran was, with one small exception: Brady. Cid, at least, has had the good sense to take the hint I gave him on the day I gave him my two weeks’ notice. He shoots me disapproving glances when I show up at the Grove in the Range Rover, and he makes offhand remarks about how great band practice is going in spite of the lack of singer, but other than that, he leaves me alone. Brady, unfortunately, does not. It isn’t so bad when he blows me up on the phone. I reject his calls, ignore his texts, and make sure my phone is on silent when I’m around Kieran so he doesn’t notice. But then Brady shows up at the Daily Dose on one of my last days, and ignoring him isn’t quite so easy. “What can I get you?” I ask him through clenched
