The note
Grace POV
It was Saturday morning and I woke up to the sun shining in my face. I looked over and saw Dean sleeping peacefully. He had one arm draped across me and the other underneath of me. He loved cuddling at night and every morning we woke up the same way. The feeling I got when I woke up in his arms was like no other. I never felt this way with Ryan. I was so glad I saved myself for Dean. He was perfect in every way.
I decided to get up and sneak downstairs to make him breakfast. I wanted to do something nice for him. He is always thinking of me. Anything from fixing something around the house, to surprising at me at work with lunch. I gently slid from his embrace. I thought he was going to wake up but instead he just rolled onto his back exposing his six pack.
God please don’t punish me when I get to heaven for my impure thoughts. I thought to myself. This man was everything rolled into one sexy package. I stopped to admire the view. I almost got back into bed and straddled him but I decided that he may need some food in his system before more strenuous activity.
I got to the kitchen and started making coffee. I turned on the stove and started making the bacon. I almost forgot the paper! Dean liked to read the paper every morning. He always read the articles about what was going on in Iraq. From what he told me he still had friends over there. His best friend Jason was a month away from fulfilling his tour. Then he would be home.
I heard a lot about Jason and his wife Melissa. I hoped when Jason returned we could all get together. Dean’s time over there was horrible. He told me it was difficult to talk about. He gave me some information about how he lost friends. Brothers. He told me about children being used as bombs. I shook my head to get the thought to leave my brain.
I opened the front door and saw a note on the door with a knife sticking out of it. I frantically looked around for anyone that might have done this. I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary other than this note. The neighborhood was quiet. I ripped the note down and read it. “You think you are so cute walking around flaunting your relationship. You are nothing but a two faced little w***e. What would your daddy say knowing your f*****g some guy you just met? You’ll get what’s coming to you. Real soon.”
The note wasn’t signed but I had a feeling it was from Ryan. Why won’t he leave me alone? I threw the note on the table and went back to making breakfast. There was nothing I could do about this now. I needed to put it out of my mind and focus on the positive. My life was finally going the way I wanted it to. I was finally happy. I refused to let Ryan Brannigan ruin anymore of it.
Dean POV
When I woke up, Grace was no longer in my arms. I’ve become used to her waking up in my arms and even though it’s only been a short while, I never wanted to spend another night away from her.
She didn’t mention having to go anywhere early in the morning. I thought as I got up and put my sweats on.
I went downstairs to look for her. There she was standing at the stove making bacon, eggs and grits. I stood leaning against the wall for a moment and just admired this sexy masterpiece in her silk short pajamas and her little pink slippers. She was so cute trying to cook everything and make sure nothing burned.
I felt it was time for me to go over and kiss my girl. I walked up behind her and wrapped my arms around her. "What’s cookin, good lookin?" I whispered in her ear. “Hahaha you did not just say that!”she laughed. "I absolutely did." I said. “You're too cute.”she said. "I think you might be even cuter," I told her, as I gave her a gentle slap on the butt.
“Hey Mr. if you are going to do that we might as well go back up to the bedroom.” "Honey, don’t threaten me with a good time." I spun her around, grabbed her ass and picked her up. Grace wrapped her legs around my waste and I walked over to the table and laid her out. I started kissing her neck and chest.
"You want it right here darlin?" I asked as I slid my fingers between her folds. She moaned and said, “mmm hmm right here, right now.” I started slipping her shorts down when the smoke alarm started going off. “s**t! The bacon!” She yelled. I pulled her off the table and grabbed the lid to the pan. I closed it and put it in the sink. Grace opened the windows and turned on the fan. We both looked at each other and started cracking up. "Oh well darlin, I didn’t want the bacon that badly anyway. The grits on the other hand…." “The grits are good to go. Sit down and I’ll make you a plate.”
I did as I was told and sat down. I looked over and saw a piece of paper on the table. "Is this all that is in the newspapers these days?" I asked sarcastically. Grace turned around confused by my question. When she saw what I was looking at she said, “Wait, I don’t think you should read that.” She tried to take it from me. I pulled my arm away and said," what’s the matter darlin, you hiding something from me," with a smirk on my face.
“Dean, please don’t read that. It’s not good and I don’t want you to be upset.” Too late, I read the words that this person called my sweet Grace. I crumpled the note in my hand as I balled my fists. "Who?" I said through gritted teeth. “It’s not worth it baby.” "Gracie Maze, who sent you this note?"She knew I was serious when I used her middle name. “I can’t say for certain, but the only person that comes to mind is Ryan.” she said. I got up from the table and walked upstairs. “Where are you going?” she shouted at me." I need to go have a talk with Ryan, man to man."
