The air in the room was met with silence, the only thing that could be heard was the rattling of plates and spoons as we all ate in silence.
Nala wasn’t only quiet, she seemed lost like she was deep in thought.
I stole glances occasionally at Nala’s parents who were also present at the table, for people whose daughter had been missing for the past few days, they seemed to be unbothered.
