Everyone had haunted, as well as distraught expressions as soon as I mentioned that something had happened to Kylie.
Even Nala as well was confused, because she hadn’t been kept abreast with information on my recent investigations. I was sure she also thought something bad had happened to Kylie. However, for everyone’s sake, I hoped not.
I only said that to see the reactions her parents would give. I needed to know if they had a hand in her disappearance, or if they were as oblivious as we were about her whereabouts.
“Mhmm, what I mean is Kylie caught a fever earlier and a nurse was sent to treat her, I’m certain she’s fine now and is resting,” I said lightly while keeping tabs on their every emotion.
