CHAPTER 11
The Thanksgiving long weekend was over and right on cue Emilia’s natural good cheer began to disintegrate. This was the time of year she dreaded the most and as the hours passed the hollow feeling in her stomach grew. Struggling to concentrate on her study, she broke with her usual routine and decided to have a hot lunch in the cafeteria.
The mostly untouched plate of food was pushed aside on the table and her nose was buried in a book when Eddie stopped by her table. She looked up warily, plastering a fake smile on her face. Why did he always pop up when she least expected it?
