CHAPTER 23
When they arrived at Stacey’s house, Emilia only made it one step inside the door before she was swarmed with well-wishers, some of whom she didn’t know but who were eager to introduce themselves. It was quite some time before she was able to make her way over to her friends.
Kelly, who should have been halfway to Boston by now, was the first of her friends she encountered. She hadn’t expected to see her until after the Christmas break and it was really sweet she’d delayed her departure for home to show her support today. Nevertheless, when Kelly leaned forward with the intention of hugging her, Emilia quickly stepped back and held her arms up. ‘No offense, guys…’ She glanced around to encompass all her friends who had started to gather around. ‘But I’m all hugged out.’
