Cassian instinctively looked toward Scarlett, a hard glint flashing in his eyes.
"Cassian?" Elowen whispered, startled. "What is Scarlett trying to say?"
"The marriage is over. Of course she has no reason to keep the ring!" Cassian ground out through clenched teeth.
A flicker of amusement crossed Elowen's eyes, though she quickly hid it. "Is the waiting period almost over?"
Cassian pressed his lips into a thin line and said nothing more.
'A waiting period? Scarlett wants a divorce? No way!'
Their relationship only ended when he said it was over. Scarlett didn't get to walk away from him, and she certainly didn't get to betray him!
"Cassian?" Elowen called his name again, uneasiness flickering in her eyes.
