Chapter 9: Merry MeetingsAs they neared the forest, queen Ellice could not believe how big it was. The tops of the trees looked like a giant blanket of leaves over a vast green bed. They were flying in from the canyon side, where the forest abruptly rose from the rocky cliff wall. As they came lower, and more level with the trees, Ellice realized how tall they really were. They were easily as tall as the statue in Thure. Some of the trees she could see must have been as large around as an airship.
One of the trees was moving. At first Ellice thought it was falling towards them. She quickly realized that a part of the tree was being slowly lowered. As it was lowered, she saw that it was actually a platform with large heavy ropes on either side, a bridge for the airship to attach to. One si
