I had no idea where these accusations came from, but I was not about to let myself be smeared like this. My gaze locked onto Wyatt's and my words came out sharp and deliberate. "I have been there before," I said. "I know exactly how crucial a racket is to a player. Do you really think I would ever pull a stunt like this?" The steel in my eyes left him speechless for a moment. A mocking voice cut through from the sidelines. "Oh please, like it was not you," someone called out. "We all saw you accidentally drill Rosalind with that ball last week." The murmurs swelled around me like a mob eager to drag me through the mud. "The cameras caught you alone last night," another voice added. "And the racket is trashed this morning," someone else chimed in. "Who else could it possibly be?"
