Chapter 15: A Heartfelt Confession Lyrik couldn't shake off the feeling that had been growing inside her. She tried to focus on their mission, on the danger that still lurked in the shadows, but her thoughts kept drifting back to Kaidus. She couldn't help but wonder if he felt the same way, if he saw her as more than just a monster, a friend. One night, as they sat around the campfire, Lyrik decided to take a chance. She got up, her heart racing, and walked over to Kaidus. Aria was busy tending to the fire, her back turned to them, and Lyrik knew this was her moment. "Kaidus," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Can I talk to you for a moment?" Kaidus looked up at her, his eyes curious. "Of course, Lyrik. What's on your mind?" Lyrik took a deep breath, her heart pounding in her chest. "I just wanted to say... I've really enjoyed our time together. You and Aria, you've become like family to me. But... it's more than that. I think I might have feelings for you, Kaidus." Kaidus's expression didn't change, but Lyrik saw a flicker of surprise in his eyes. "Lyrik," he said, his voice gentle. "I care about you too. You're an amazing person, and I'm glad you're by our side." Lyrik's heart sank, but she knew she had to keep going. "I know I'm a monster, Kaidus. I know I'm not like you and Aria. But I can't help how I feel. And I wanted to be honest with you, because... because I don't want to hide it anymore." Kaidus looked at her, his eyes softening. "Lyrik, you're not just a monster. You're so much more than that. And I... I care about you, too. Not just as a friend, but... more." Lyrik's heart soared, her pulse racing with excitement. She saw the sincerity in Kaidus's eyes, and she knew that he meant it. He felt the same way, and that knowledge filled her with joy. To be continued in Chapter 16...
