She was hurt and was trying to understand what was happening. Her mind raced with a thousand thoughts trying to understand what was happening, but they all summed up to one question, was the doctor ashamed of her? She made small talk with Ira but it was strained and she barely knew what they were talking about. She was still struggling and Cherine noticed and spoke more, acknowledging the fact that we both were also fans of hers and that I was glad to be able to work with her. Lada pitched in a few to the conversation but was mainly observant.
In Lada’s mind, she knew she had a lot of explaining to do, and she wondered what kind of anger waited for her when she and Earn eventually had time to their selves. She hoped that Earn wouldn’t get too angry and not speak to her, she’d rather get yelled at than the silent treatment.
Ira’s phone rang and she looked at Lada sadly while she picked it up, after a few back and fort and the call ended, she spoke to Lada,
“Let’s have dinner tonight and catch up Khong Chan, I need to get going to the office, I’ve been summoned. But I just neeeed to see you and hear everything I’ve missed during these years I’ve been away. Should we have it at the usual place? Or should I come over and cook for us? You used to love my stir-fried pasta, what do you think?”
“Just come over tonight N’Ira, I’ll do the cooking, you just got back, you should rest. But I’ve moved, I’ll send you the new address and time” Lada was grinning ear to ear while she spoke. Her eyes held a soft look as she glanced at Ira. Her hand had found it’s way back onto Ira’s waist. Earn felt like an outsider watching the two of them. Hearing Lada agree to dinner so easily made her stomach twist. That felt like the last straw for her. She had been begging for weeks and kept on being pushed aside, or rescheduled for an important night, but Ira doesn’t even need to ask and Lada had already agreed. Ira leaned in and pecked the doctor on the cheek and said
“How can I say no to that?”
Earn could feel her heart breaking at the scene unfolding before her eyes. She had tried to keep her reactions to the bare minimum, but she couldn’t stop her eyes from going wide when she saw that. Her hand instinctively moved before her brain could stop her and she grabbed Lada’s arm. She let go once she did, as if realizing that in this playing scene, she was the outsider. She had no reason to be Jealous in front of Ira.
Earn smiled stiffly at the group before making an excuse up about being needed somewhere else. She saw Lada look at her questioningly but she looked at Cherine and nodded as she walked to the elevator. However she was expecting this meeting with Lada to go in her mind, she had gotten the complete opposite of. Ira waved enthusiastically, seemingly happy to have met her idol, completely unaware of what was going on underneath. She turned to Lada and spoke
“I can’t believe you actually moved from the penthouse, I loved your room in that one”. Lada hoped Earn hadn’t heard that line and interpreted it wrong. She glanced in the direction Earn headed in and saw the glare sent her way before she stepped into the elevator.
Once in the elevator, Earn couldn’t stop the tears that flowed down her cheeks, they burned almost as hot as the sting in her stomach, she didn’t fully understand what happened or why what happened… happened. She just knew it hurt. As she approached the ground floor, she wiped her tears and put on a smile on the walk back to her car. She drove to a café nearby and got herself a coffee and a cake. She realized she didn’t get lunch for Lada today and told herself she wasn’t going back there. She called P’suzie and told her to meet up with her at the café. It took a while but P’suzie arrived and took a seat across Earn. They sat there for hours talking about work, people and movies. P’suzie could sense something was bothering Earn but decided to let her open up at her own pace. She knew about the Doctors distance and how it was affecting Earn, she also wondered what could have led to it, but with no answers, she just comforted Earn whenever she got down about it. Earn had been showing up for interviews and fan meets for 3 weeks now without any need of make up artists to cover up bite marks or hickeys which were a usual occurrence for the actress since being with the Doctor. It gave P’suzie an Idea of how frustrated Earn might actually be.
Around 4, Earn had gotten a text from the Doctor that said ‘Teerak, come home for dinner by 5? I’m already home. See you soon’
Earn had been shocked, sad and happy. She didn’t think the doctor actually wanted her there, so she hadn’t bothered replying. She was shocked because the day hadn’t fully darkened and Lada was actually home, for the first time in weeks, sad because she knew she wasn’t the reason her wife was home early for the first time in weeks and happy because, well, Lada was home.
P’suzie noticed when Lada had called by 4:10, the by 4:15 and again 5 minutes after that. She watched Earn busy all the calls and saw the shift in the air around them as she seemingly sent Lada a text.
Lada received a short text from Earn, ‘will be home late.’ Lada was anxious because she knew her wife would most likely be confused and fuming, which is not a good combination…
Earn looked at P’suzie before asking her to continue speaking as she knew the calls would halt for now.
P’suzie nodded and said, “you have a gig for a music video with that artist you love, khun Ira next month.”
Earn groaned and dropped her head to the table defeatedly.
P’suzie was shocked as that was the last kind of reaction, she was expecting from Earn, if anything, she’d thought it would be enough to bring a smile to the actress’s face.
“Nong Earn, tell me huh, what’s with that reaction? You love Khun Ira, don’t you?” P’suzie asked genuinely confused.
Earn looked at her and recounted her day and how she’d met the popstar for the very first time and watched Lada promise Ira dinner after saying she couldn’t move her meetings and also telling Earn she couldn’t drive her to the airport but gladly offering her services to Ira. Being introduced as a good friend and not her wife. She explained to P’suzie that where as she hadn’t gotten even a hug from the doctor in weeks, she watched Ira give the doctor a peck and could do nothing about it.
P’suzie laughed heartily and reassured Earn that she’s sure that there’s nothing between the doctor and Ira, and when Earn looked at her quizzingly, she just smiled and said
“Khun mor Fahlada, loves you too much to hurt you. I’m sure there’s a reasonable explanation for today, and it will make you feel silly for even thinking anything else when you hear it, N’Earn, think about it deeply, why would she want you home there with her if she was hiding you? Go home, and get there before your guest so that you can finally have some alone time with that Sexy doctor of yours, and before anything give her a few kisses or something, release that pent up tension girl, it’s making you insecure.”
Earn blushed red but realized that P’suzie was right, she could finally have a talk with P’mor, before Ira gets there, maybe understand and tell her how much she missed her. She can’t lie either, the thought of releasing any tension was welcoming, even through just a hug from her lover. She thanked P’suzie, got up, paid the bill and headed home fast, trying to get there on time. Lada said dinner was at 5 and it was a little over 4:58 when she pulled into the house. She didn’t bother with parking in the garage as she was in a rush, she just needed to hug her wife.
