Richard was taken aback by what Rebecca uttered. Did she ask him to marry her or are his ears playing tricks on him? He asked himself silently.
"What did you say?" Richard asked some moments later after he found his voice. He wanted to ensure that his ears were not malfunctioning.
"Please, marry me," Rebecca repeated. Her dull eyes looked at Richard in desperation.
"You know what? We can't discuss this here. Let's go to your house so that we can sit and discuss this," Richard told her. He could see that she was not in the right frame of mind.
