C'mon Chloe, how can you call someone the devil, that's extreme."
"My dear, I'm telling you the gospel truth, I think he is more wicked than the devil!"
"Chloe, let's take a stroll," Pearl said nonchalantly.
The next few days were normal until a dark cloud appeared in the sky. It looked like a storm; everywhere was very dark and windy. Pearl was in the stable, taking Alexander for a ride when she noticed the cloud.
"Whoa, Alexander! Do you see that? Let's go home, hyah!"
When Pearl got to the stable, she made sure everything was in order, and as she turned to leave, she saw a black horse. And beside the black horse stood he-cold, intimidating. He had a strong dark aura and the deepest bluest eyes set in the fairest face. He was like the sun hidden in clouds of thunder.
He was...
"What are you looking at?" he asked. His voice sent shivers down her spine.
"I said, what are you looking at?" he asked again, walking slowly toward her this time.
Her lips were numb, her legs were shaky.
She couldn't feel her feet, she felt like she was floating and drowning at the same time. Those eyes, his scent-she had never seen anything like it. He was saying something, but she couldn't fathom what it was; she was just staring at his lips. They were as pink as a blooming rose.
"Make sure you take care of my horse. I don't want to see any stain on him when I come to pick him," he said, and then walked away with a cold breeze following him.
Pearl stood transfixed at that spot for almost ten minutes. It took about that long for her to come back to reality. She looked around and then at the horse.
"Hi there, how are you doing? How was your journey? Do you have any sore?" she asked, touching the horse. But the horse turned his back towards her. It seemed like he was hostile, like his master.
It took a lot of effort before Pearl could finally get the horse to do what she wanted. By the time she was done, night had come, so she rushed home. But when she got home, she didn't talk to anyone, not even Chloe, which was strange.
