Climbing the steps to my apartment, my mind reels from today’s events. Moved to a new city, found a job, met some potential friends, and scoped out the area on my short walk to The Pour. Even with all that has happened, the only thing on my mind is the stranger I met. Ellis.
I’ve only seen him twice so far, but those were enough for him to have a hold on me. I’m not sure why he intrigues me, something about his tall, strong, mysterious-looking exterior doesn’t match the quivering of his wings and the stammer in his voice. He ran, or flew, away both times we met before I could speak with him much but still, it seemed like a part of him didn’t want to leave. Like something was pulling him away, making him need to escape me. I wouldn’t want to put myself in his orbit if he’s not interested, but part of me senses that Ellis wasn’t unaffected by our encounters either. I don’t mind pursuing what I want.
I chased this life, a chance at my dreams. I don’t mind chasing him a little too if he should want me to.
I toe off my sneakers and head to my bathroom to draw a bath in the little shower, tub combo. I roll my eyes knowing this will probably be the least satisfying bath possible with my boobs, stomach, and knees probably sticking out of it but I need to relax off my feet after running around at the restaurant this evening. Looking in the mirror, I take down my hair, shimmy out of the sundress, and start removing my makeup. Staring at myself a moment longer, the claw of doubt starts working its way up my throat. I shake my head, mentally chiding myself. I used to be a smaller girl, but I was never dainty and cute like most. I’m taller than other women, and now as an adult, curvier too. I accepted who I was long ago, but insecurities come back to the surface when I’m in new situations or meet new people. Here I am, a grown woman, worrying myself over what a f*****g mothman thinks about my looks. He probably knows the feeling all too well. Whatever, we’re all adults, he will like me or he won’t, and either way I’ll be happy with who I am.
I slowly lower myself into the tub and lose myself in thoughts about Ellis. I’ve never really had a type but feeling his finely corded strength as he caught me, like he was barely trying, made some part of me blush with girlish excitement. I definitely felt dainty with his figure towering over me, holding me up as if I weighed nothing.
I find myself wondering what kind of d**k a mothman possesses. I know they have an innie, a sort of pouch inside their groin that protects their reproductive organs, which extrude themselves when it’s time to, well, you know. There are a few different species like that. I imagine running my hand down his taut abdomen and brushing against the opening that I’m looking for. Picturing the flutter of his wings as he groans against my neck, my hand sinks below the water toward the place that needs the most attention at this moment.
One thing I know for certain, I intend on seeing him again.
