The Life Changer of Kareem – Episode 1: The Stranger’s Gift
Kareem was an ordinary man in Jafara, a quiet town where nothing ever changed. His days were spent running his small shop, selling goods to familiar faces. He had once dreamed of adventure, of success, but life had worn him down.
One afternoon, as the sun cast golden light over the dusty street, an old man entered his shop. He wore a tattered robe, his beard was gray, and his eyes held an unsettling wisdom. He placed a dusty, ancient book on the counter.
“This is for you,” the old man said.
Kareem hesitated. “I think you have the wrong person.”
The man shook his head. “No. You are exactly who I am looking for.”
Kareem picked up the book. The leather cover was cracked, and the pages smelled of time itself. The title had faded away, leaving only whispers of forgotten ink.
“What is this?” Kareem asked.
“A life changer,” the old man replied. “But only if you follow its instructions.”
Kareem frowned. This had to be a joke. But before he could ask more, the old man turned and left, disappearing into the street like he had never been there at all.
Curious, Kareem opened the book.
The first page had only one sentence:
“Give away your last coin to someone in need.”
Kareem laughed bitterly. His last coin? He barely made enough to survive. Why would he give it away?
Yet, something about the book pulled at him. A strange feeling stirred inside. Would he dare to follow its command?
He closed the shop early that evening. As he walked home, he saw a beggar sitting by the roadside, his hands trembling from hunger.
Kareem reached into his pocket. The single coin felt heavy, as if it carried the weight of all his fears.
With a deep breath, he placed the coin into the beggar’s hands.
“May it bring you luck,” Kareem muttered.
The beggar looked up and smiled. “It already has.”
That night, as Kareem lay in bed, he wondered if he had made a mistake. But just as sleep claimed him, a strange whisper filled his room:
“Your life has begun to change.”
The Life Changer of Kareem – Episode 2: The Unexpected Reward
Kareem woke up feeling restless. The words he had heard in his sleep—“Your life has begun to change”—echoed in his mind. He shook his head, convincing himself it had been a dream.
Morning light streamed through his small window as he prepared to open his shop. He didn’t expect anything to be different, but as soon as he stepped outside, something unusual happened.
A wealthy merchant, Alhaji Bashir, stood in front of his shop. Kareem had seen him before but had never spoken to him. The man turned with a smile.
“I hear you are an honest man,” Alhaji Bashir said. “I need supplies for a feast, and I want to buy from you.”
Kareem was speechless. No one had ever made such a large order from him before. “Of course, sir,” he said, still unsure why he was being chosen.
Alhaji Bashir pointed to the shelves. “I’ll take half of everything you have.”
Kareem nearly dropped the sack of rice he was holding. “Half?”
The merchant nodded. “Yes. I pay immediately.”
True to his word, the merchant handed him a heavy bag of coins, more than Kareem had seen in months. His heart pounded as he accepted the payment.
That single sale changed his entire fortune.
As Alhaji Bashir’s servants loaded the goods onto carts, the merchant turned back. “One more thing. Why did you give your last coin to that beggar yesterday?”
Kareem froze. “How do you know that?”
The merchant simply smiled. “Kindness always finds a way back.”
Kareem watched as the merchant left, still struggling to believe what had just happened. He turned back to his shop, feeling the weight of the mysterious book in his pocket.
Had it really started working?
He pulled out the book and flipped to the next page.
A new sentence had appeared, written in the same ancient script:
“Trust a stranger with something valuable.”
Kareem frowned. His heart told him that this was only the beginning.
Would he obey the book again?
