Calder lay in my bed, staring up at the ceiling. His neck had been severed so deeply that I hadn’t thought he’d make it through last night. I had cried so hard into Thayer’s, Darius’s, and Gaian’s arms at the mere thought of losing my mate. But he was alive. And I had revenge to get on the man who had made him like this. “Jaroth is awake, Sina,” Gaian said as I closed Calder’s door to let him rest. “Thayer has been torturing him in the prison all morning for answers about what he gave Calder, but he hasn’t spoken a single word.” I swallowed hard, my stomach twisting, and hurried past Gaian toward the back door.
