Everyone was shocked to see that the person stepping out of the luxury car was Lily, Emma's mother.
“Is that Lily, Emma's mom?” asked a woman in a blouse.
“Yes, that’s Lily from the Evans family. Aren't they going bankrupt? And didn’t her husband leave her? How can she afford that car?”
“Who is she with? Her boyfriend? Has she already divorced?”
Questions like these spilled out from the mothers picking up their children from school.
They were completely surprised that Lily was picking up her daughter in a luxury car, knowing the Evans family was in financial trouble.
“Where’s Emma’s class? Let’s pick her up in front of her classroom!” said Ethan.
“We’re not allowed to go in. Let’s wait here. She’ll come out to us,” Lily replied.
