Ethan was now more open and was ready to hear what Austin had to say first. After all, when he left Lily’s house, the only thought on his mind was to take over his mother’s company.
“Yes, I heard you clearly. But I’m here to give you this. Even though you haven’t returned home, with this card, you can fulfill all your wishes and handle any urgent situation,” Austin said, handing over a black card.
Ethan looked at the card, recognizing it immediately. He had often seen it when he was still part of the Eldridge family.
“Please take it; I’m heading back to the capital soon,” Austin urged.
Ethan gave a slight nod, accepting the card reluctantly. “Alright, thank you, Austin.”
At that moment, a luxury car pulled up and parked beside them.
A middle-aged man stepped out and bowed respectfully.
“Greetings, Young Master Ethan. My name is Charlie Sheen, and I’m here to assist you with anything you need in Lunaris City, Young Master Ethan,” Charlie introduced himself.
Ethan didn’t recognize this man, but he knew he was also one of his father’s envoys.
“He’s one of the wealthiest men in Lunaris City. If you don’t plan to return home anytime soon, Charlie can assist you with everything you need here,” Austin explained.
Charlie nodded quickly and said, “Yes, that’s correct.”
Charlie then produced a key card and handed it to Ethan.
“Young Master Ethan, I’ve prepared a first-class residence for you so that you can live comfortably in this city,” Charlie said.
Ethan suppressed his pride. This was all for Lily and Emma.
So, he accepted Charlie’s gift of the house.
“Alright, Charlie. Thank you very much for your help. I won’t be staying long—just for a while,” Ethan said.
“No need to be reserved. The ownership of the house is already in your name, Young Master Ethan. So, whenever or however you choose to use it, it’s entirely up to you,” Charlie replied.
“Well then, take the Young Master to his new home. Let him rest a bit,” Austin instructed.
“Understood,” Charlie said.
Austin turned to Ethan and asked, “Shall we go now, Young Master? I’ll escort you.”
Ethan had no other choice now. Even though he could buy his own luxury home, it would take time. So, he accepted Charlie’s offer and moved to the prepared house.
Upon arriving at the luxurious residence, Ethan chose to rest immediately. He was exhausted and needed to gather his strength for the next day.
Yes, tomorrow might be another tough day.
The next day, Ethan set out for Zenith Group, located in Lunaris.
In fact, Zenith Group had already been returned to Ethan after the Eldridge family learned that he had become a War God.
Of course, having a War God in the family would increase people’s trust in the family’s companies. As a result, companies under the Eldridge Group, including Zenith Group, would see a surge in market value.
Ethan stood on the ground floor of the company building, a look of contemplation on his face. Every time Ethan thought about the humiliation and pain his mother had endured, anger filled his heart.
“One day, I’ll confront the Eldridge Family myself!” Ethan muttered, his eyes flickering with resentment.
Moments later, a white luxury car parked in the company lot. A woman dressed formally stepped out of the car.
The woman was his cousin Lily’s friend, Gisel. The white luxury car was one of Ethan’s gifts from the previous night.
Gisel was eager to show it off, so she brought it back home.
“Gisel, you’ve made me envious! Not only did you win the heart of a young master from the Smith Family, but you also got a luxury bridal gift like this!”
“When you officially become the wife of a billionaire, don’t forget about your friend here!” said Audrey, a Zenith Group employee with a sweet smile, as she approached Gisel.
Initially, Gisel had told her friends she was engaged to someone from the Smith family, a wealthy family. So, all her friends were abuzz with excitement.
Gisel held her friend’s hand, smiling warmly as she said, “How could I ever forget you? In fact, I could use your help right now!”
“Don’t worry, with Audrey around, everything will go smoothly! Luckily, I’m the HR manager here, so the power’s in my hands!”
“If it weren’t for company regulations, I’d bring you in right away, but it’s okay—we’ll go through the process.”
“Alright! Thanks a lot, Ms. Audrey. Hahaha…”
Gisel and Audrey chatted as they walked toward the company, clearly close friends.
“Ethan?” Gisel exclaimed, surprised to see him at the company entrance.
Before Ethan could respond, Gisel’s expression soured, and she scolded him.
“You creepy stalker! Isn’t it enough you got kicked out by Aunt Grace? Now you’re targeting me because I have money?”
“Listen, even if you beg on your knees, I still wouldn’t help you!”
Ethan furrowed his brow and gave a cold smile. “Stalking you? You’re insane! If anyone’s trying to follow, it’s you! Why else would you be working here too?”
Gisel was momentarily speechless, then quickly changed the subject with a smug grin.
“You must be here looking for a job, huh?”
Ethan said nothing, choosing to ignore her and enter the company. As he stepped forward, Gisel blocked his path and mocked him.
“Don’t waste your time here. Do you even understand the magnitude of Zenith Group?”
“Zenith Group is a business group under the Eldridge Family! Even though this branch in Lunaris is newly established, they would never hire a piece of trash like you to meet their staffing quota!”
“Gisel, who is he?” Audrey asked, curious.
Gisel looked at Ethan with disgust and replied, “He’s the loser who deceived my cousin five years ago! He’s been leeching off my uncle’s family for years. Now that his money’s probably run out, he’s back to bother my cousin. Of course, we kicked him out!”
“So, he’s the jerk who took advantage of your cousin?” Audrey asked in shock.
“I’m sorry, but our company isn’t hiring. You should just leave!” Audrey said, eyeing Ethan dismissively.
Ethan said nothing, brushing past them as he entered the company.
Audrey stepped forward to block Ethan and said, “What are you doing? I said Zenith Group isn’t hiring. Why are you so stubborn? If you don’t leave, I’ll call security!”
“Move!” Ethan barked coldly, his gaze so intense that Audrey subconsciously took a few steps back.
The main reason Ethan tolerated the pressure from his wife’s family was Lily and his daughter. But that didn’t mean others could trample on his dignity.
“You’re pretty gutsy to act out here!” Audrey sneered.
“What’s going on, Ms. Audrey?” asked a middle-aged security guard.
