A deep breath was taken, standing still with a hand behind my back. I looked up, the doctor staring at me, taking his time and not rushing us. Emma was taken to the children’s room. My hand in Marci’s, squeezing tight where I drew strength. Another deep breath was taken, everything seeming so distant as I tried to just keep breathing.
