The Alpha Who Regretted Everything

634 Words
The Silver Moon Pack was no longer celebrating. The laughter that had echoed through the village only hours earlier had vanished, replaced by fear. Dark clouds gathered above the packhouse, and an unnatural wind swept across the territory. Inside the Alpha's office, Lucian stood before the large window, his fists clenched so tightly that blood dripped from his palms. His wolf refused to calm down. "Go to her!" his wolf growled. "She is our mate!" "I rejected her," Lucian muttered through gritted teeth. "You rejected her... but I didn't!" The pain in his chest became unbearable. Every heartbeat felt like a knife cutting through his soul. He had expected relief after rejecting Lyra. Instead, he felt emptier than ever. Suddenly, the Moon Priest rushed into the room without knocking. "Alpha!" Lucian turned sharply. "What is it?" "The forbidden seal beneath Hell Forest has been broken." Lucian's expression hardened. "What does that mean?" The old priest swallowed nervously. "It means the Devil Alpha has awakened." The room fell silent. Every warrior present lowered their heads. Even the strongest Alphas feared that name. "The legends were true..." one commander whispered. "The first Alpha has returned." --- Meanwhile... Deep inside Hell Forest... Lyra sat beside a small fire Kael had created with a single wave of his hand. She couldn't stop staring at him. Everything about him was impossible. His silver hair shimmered in the firelight. His crimson eyes glowed softly whenever he looked at her. Even sitting still, his presence was overwhelming. Kael noticed her gaze. "You have questions." Lyra nodded slowly. "You said I'm your mate." "Yes." "But I already had a mate." "You had a false bond." Lyra frowned. "A false bond?" Kael looked into the flames. "Thousands of years ago, the Moon Goddess created two kinds of mate bonds." "The first is the ordinary mate bond." "The second..." He paused. "...is the Ancient Bond." Lyra listened carefully. "The Ancient Bond exists only once in every generation." "It cannot be broken." "It cannot be rejected." "And once awakened..." His crimson eyes met hers. "...not even the gods can separate the two souls." A shiver ran through Lyra's body. "So... why was I matched with Lucian?" Kael's expression darkened. "Someone interfered with fate." Before Lyra could ask another question... A powerful explosion echoed through the forest. BOOM! The ground shook violently. Kael stood instantly. His eyes narrowed. "They found us." Dozens of powerful wolf auras surrounded the clearing. Within seconds... Hundreds of Silver Moon warriors emerged from the darkness. Each carried enchanted silver weapons. Behind them... Alpha Lucian stepped forward. His golden eyes locked onto Lyra. Relief flashed across his face. Then his gaze shifted to Kael. Instantly... The air turned deadly. Lucian's voice echoed across the forest. "Step away from my mate." Kael smiled. It wasn't a friendly smile. It was the smile of a king who feared no one. "Your mate?" He looked at Lyra before returning his gaze to Lucian. "You rejected her." "You lost that right." Lucian growled. "I made a mistake." "I've come to bring her home." Lyra stared at him in disbelief. Home? After humiliating her before the entire pack? After calling her weak? After throwing her out into the storm? Tears filled her eyes—not from sadness this time, but from anger. She took one step backward. And stood beside Kael. Lucian's heart shattered. "No..." "Lyra..." She looked straight into his eyes. "The day you rejected me..." "...was the day you stopped being my Alpha." Silence fell over the battlefield. Every warrior held their breath. Kael's lips curved into a satisfied smile. But hidden in the darkness... A pair of glowing purple eyes watched them all. A mysterious woman whispered, "So... the Ancient Bond has truly awakened." She smiled coldly. "Perfect." "Now the real game can begin."
