Chapter 6: Quenching Dangerous Desires

2194 Words
Orvyn's POV "Oho! Oho! The House of Vagamor is victorious. Long live the House and long live the Alpha!" The men chanted boisterously, drinking fermented ale from tall gourds. Each man had a cup in one hand, and a w***e in the other, drowning and moaning in the joy of capturing Princess Olive. It was never my will, but since the men wanted the night, I concurred. All through the night at Gaius' Tavern, my spirit was far from me. The feisty princess seemed to have a hold of me. All I thought about was her. Her perfect pointy nose, her wavy red locks, her slender portrait... Goddamnit! Oh, those perky breasts! How I long to knead them with my bare hands. I had a feeling we'd both relish the moment. "Orvyn!" Conrad clasped a hand over my shoulder from behind, taking a quick swig from his cup. "The night is blessed with wine and pleasure. I bet you cannot have enough of it!" He hailed, stretching his free arm, staggering slightly. "Hmmm." I raised the cup to my lips, tasting the ale for the first time, staring into nothing. Conrad just had a way of ruining my moments. He crashed into an empty seat beside me, chugging down another gulp. "I can swear by my mother's grave, you can't wait to have one of these sumptuous whores spitting on over your c**k. You've worked so hard lately, man. It's time you enjoyed the fruits of your labor. Cheers to more wins, friend." He raised his cup for the cheer, but I was not the least motivated. Reluctantly, I pushed up my cup for a clang, settling it back on the mahogany table absentmindedly. "Orvyn." His brows creased into a curious frown. "Hmmm?" "What's wrong?" "I'm fine. Go enjoy yourself with the men, and forget about me. You initiated the night, remember?" I took a sip from the cup and returned it to its position on the table, dipping my thoughts back to the images of Olive living rent free in my head. "We've been friends since we were kids, Orvyn, and I know exactly how you react to everything around you." "Let me be, Conrad. Find yourself a pussy." "I know how you act when you're sad,'' he continued, ignoring my remark. "Conrad." I groaned with a slight slur. "Please, stop." "I know how you act when you're happy." I rolled my eyes to the back of my head, rubbing the nape of my neck. "Do you have to do this all the time to get to me?" "I know how you act when you lose something dear." I snorted, pressing my lips into a thin line. Arguing with Conrad was a hopeless situation. "And I know how you feel when you fall in love." I stifled. Conrad is not just my Beta, he's my best friend; the brother I never got to have. We've come a long way from childhood, learning the art of swordsmanship. Sometimes, I had to agree that this obstinate friend knew me better than I knew myself. There's no escaping his searching gaze. And like every other time, he got my guts knotting. I raised the cup to my mouth, emptying the content in one fell swoop. It's either I got drunk to forget princess Olive, or I got myself in trouble under the probing eye of my best friend. "You don't know what you're saying." I scrunched my face into a grimace, wiping my lips with the back of my hand. "I don't have time for love and you know that." Breaking eye contact, I called for a maiden to refill my cup. "It's her, isn't it?" "Who?" I deliberately stared aimlessly into my cup. One investigative look, and I'm caught. I did all I could to avoid that. "Seriously?" He scoffed, sitting ramrod straight. "Are you trying to say I'm as dumb as you are right now?" "Conrad!" I tensed. "If you're tired of the party, go home. Don't come here barging into my thoughts, and ruining my night." The maid arrived with my fresh jar of ale. Smiling wantonly, she placed the jar in front of me, bending unnecessary. I paid her no heed. She's not the first, neither would she be the last. When she noticed how frigid I was, she reckoned a slight bow and whined away. "For heaven's sake, Orvyn." He reduced his voice to a low whisper. "If you love Olive, all you have to do is tell me, " he placed a hand on my shoulder and brought the second to his chest in a solemn manner. "We're best friends, remember?" I could trust Conrad- besides, he was my best friend, and best friends hide no secrets. "Alright, alright." I huffed, scowling into his eyes for the first time. "I don't know if it's love yet, but I can't stop thinking about her. I_ I see her everywhere I go. That girl is drilling holes into my heart. She literally gives me sleepless night. I don't know why she has so much effect on me. I can't control it." I confessed, hanging my head. Instinctively, I grabbed the jar to filled my cup. I'll just sit here and drown these dangerous thoughts out of my head. "I knew it!" Conrad exclaimed, slapping my shoulder, earning a glare from me. He continued anyway, amused. "I f*****g knew it from the very moment I saw you with her that night. I saw the way you looked at her, telling the men to handling her with care, even when she's Alpha Kazamir's daughter." "Hey, bring your voice down, you don't want any ear hearing that, do you?" I scouted the tavern for strange ears or eyes eavesdropping on our conversation. Werewolves have the ability to pick up the slightest sound, if they concentrated on it. "No one will be in support of it." "Hmmm." He stroked his hairy hollow chin. "Now, that's where the real battle is. The men will frown at it, and the Table will never accept her." He flashed me a serious look. " Especially Archibald." "Especially Archibald. I must be wary of him." I exhaled, relaxing into the stool. "What do you think you can do now?" "I'll fight the feelings. Perhaps, the day will come when the fair princess will repulse me." I took a mouthful of the ale, wincing at him. "It's not going to work. You need to do something more practical. Take action to forget her." "What do you suggest I do?" I leaned closer, paying rapt attention. "Remind yourself her father killed your father to take his throne. Your throne, Orvyn. And swear you'll make her pay for what her father did to you by starting with her." "I see." I crossed my fingers, assimilating the plan. "I've got an idea." "Spill it." "I'll go see her tonight." "What?" He arched his brows in disbelief. "Easy there, man. It's not what you think. I'm going to tell her she has until three full moons before I rip her heart out of her chest, if her father doesn't send an emissary to speak on the terms of her release." "Hmmm. That can work. That way, she'll hate you, and you'll hate her too. And you'll forget her in no time. "That's it. You got it right!" I catching, catching Conrad's forearm in a knight-shake. "Let me go see the enemies daughter, and give her a piece of my mind. "Run along, Alpha." He raised his cup to mine. "I wish you a broken heart." I got out of the Tavern, strutting majestically to the castle, shoulders squared. I made up my mind to rid myself free of the intruding Princess . On getting to the castle, the guards pushed open the double doors, leading to the courtyard. "My Lord," they bowed. I acknowledged them with a pat on their shoulders, making for the stairs, binding the steps in twos. ''When I'm done with her, she'll fall at my feet and beg for her life," I thought aloud. Taking the last step that led to the passage facing her room, my heart skittered and my determination faltered. "What's happening to me?" I swallowed. "Am I developing cold feet now?" I feared. " Be strong now, Orvyn. You can do this. Her father killed your father to usurp your throne. Will you let that slide?" I frowned, closing my eyes briefly to let the bad air pass. Parting my lids open, a new wave of determination swept through me. I squared my shoulders, strutting to the door. "My Lord," the guards stationed at the door bowed, twisting the knob open for me. This is it. I wore a frown and stepped into the room, only to be greeted by her absence. I went into panic, looking everywhere for her. Where could she have gone? I gave the room a thorough search, lifting and tossing anything and everything I came across. Other than a bed and a stool, the room was bare. The window. It was left ajar. "Oh my goodness, she must have escaped through the window." I spirited to the window, looking into the the open to catch a glimpse of her figure in the darkness. But there was no trace of her. "f**k!" I kicked the stool in annoyance, sending it crashing into the concrete wall. Frustrated and exhausted, I sank my tired weight at the edge of the bed, thinking of how to break the bad news of Olive's escape to the men. They would be so disappointed in me. That was the last thing I wanted- to lose my people's trust. Suddenly, a hand grabbed me by the ankles from under the bed, pulling me sharply under. I fell forward, supporting my face with my hands to prevent a broken nose. The hands pulled me under the bed, and arrested me with a choke-hold. "Not so tough now, Alpha." "Princess Olive?" I was beyond shocked. Her eyes were a gleaming shade of golden yellow, Illuminating the darkness around us. She pressed her slender body against mine under the tight space, so that her breasts were flat against my chest. My eyes traced her lips in the darks, as I fought the urge to smother her with slimy kisses. Sadly, all the threats I planned to say to her sizzled out of memory, replaced by a burning desire to have her there and then. Her lips begged to be kissed, yet they spoke of villainy and treachery. "Who else where you expecting?" She whispered, a content smug curling the end of her lips. "And why's your heart racing this fast? You could kill me now and take my head to your father." I supported the back of my head with a hand pillowed beneath it. "It's not racing fast." She dug a claw into my right shoulder, as if telling me she was some dangerous killer, but I knew better. I can swear the princess cannot arm a fly. "Oh yes, it is, Princess." I smirked, enjoying the pain she inflicted on me, as I basked in the pleasures of her perky breasts poking my chest. She tightened her hold around my neck. "It's the adrenaline. I'm not afraid of you." "Easy there, Princess." I winced. "The last time I checked, I captured you with your breath still in you. It'll be unfair to kill me by suffocation." "You held me at choke-hold too, and you bashed me into a tree, remember?" she snarled. "That was before I knew who you were." "Shut it, Orvyn. You're nothing but a sneaky handsome devil." She froze. The words had come out before she realized what she said. Shoving it aside, she continued with her assault on my throat and shoulder, while I fought hard to control my raging budge. "I can kill you right here and no one will know it. "I doubt that," I smirked, "If you wanted me dead, what's stopping you now... Princess?" I drawled the last word, settling my gaze on her lips. I made sure she knew I was staring at her lips. And it worked. She licked her lips and gulped. "Perish that thought, because you're never going to have a taste of what you're ogling at." I scoffed, sniffing in her arousal. "Won't you want to know how I taste before you kill me? I know you want me. I can smell your arousal. It's mutual, by the way, if it helps you sleep better at night." She held my gaze for a while, her breath warm against my face. Her n*****s pebbled, ready to be fondled. Few strands of hair fell over her face, begging me to snag them behind her ears. Damn! If the Moon Goddess were a person! Without giving it a second thought, I captured the back of her neck with my free hand and craned it forward to taste the sweetness of her lips, forgetting she was the enemy's daughter. She let out a tender moan, surrendering her will to me. I parted her soft plush lips, diving into the warmth of her mouth.
