The walk home was quiet and gloomy, but not only because Thom felt disheartened by their failure to secure any intel on strawberry boy. He was also still unsettled that he’d read the security guard so poorly. He’d believed himself to be quick on picking up everything from the most obvious character traits to the most subtle gestures, then using that information to come to a sound conclusion on people and their trustworthiness.
