Abelia could feel it. The gate was open. The ritual had been completed. Power flowed from beneath the town and strengthened her. It was incredible. Far beyond anything that she had expected. Her pray stood ahead. Other humans gathered around the mage. As if strength in numbers made a difference against her. “Humans.” Abelia said and snorted. She started running towards the group that included the mage Nicodemus. She could not allow him to live. Nothing else mattered right now. The humans weren’t even intelligent enough to try to run away. Or maybe they understood that escape wasn’t an option. Perhaps they had some sense.
