I stared down at the screen of my phone my hands trembling as I forced myself to open the text my father sent as soon as possible to see if it was all an actual joke or he meant business. I honestly couldn't just process what he just told me.
"Pungan Estate, You'll see their house written in bold the Capler's Manison. When a maid comes out tell them you're the soon to be wife of Mr. Dutan. They'll let you in". Don't be late! Wear something nice! " that was what the text read exactly.
I looked up and sighed. Why was dad doing to me? Why was he forcing me into something I didn't want to Marriage was something that was never in my plan and I really hated the thought of it.
I didn't even bother to head back home to change. I just took my bags and headed straight to the location. The house was a big mansion plastered with gold. I guess they Capler's were more rich than I expected and that's why dad really wanted me to get married to them. I lifted my eyes to be sure it was the right place Dad wrote. The Capler's Manison was carved in bold. I guess that's how ordinary rich people showed up themselves. I smirked and went in.
A man in black suit approached me which I supposed to be the care taker of the house. I told him the exact words in the message and I was allowed in and showed to the dinning room. It was as if they were having a feast. Expensive wines, Delicacies of different kinds and fruits were all set on the table.
The first person my eyes caught was the guy sitting by the left hand side of the table. He was so handsome. He had the perfect jawline, perfect body shape and the best hair structure. And for the first time my brutal heart of stone melted. There was really something about him.
I just couldn't stop staring. He was just the perfect guy for me. . Could he be the one I was getting married to? Could dad really know the perfect match for me?
"Please sit here"My thoughts were interrupted by the man who directed me in earlier. I sat still keeping my eyes on him.
"You must be Jessica" the woman in luxurious silk gown spoke with a cool voice. "Yes ma'am" I replied smartly. "I'm Mrs Capler and this are my sons " she introduced showing me her sons. I looked at the other one who was sitting by the right side, he looked older than the other one and less handsome than him too.
The two sons didn't even care to raise their head to greet or tell their names, they were all engrossed in their phones.
"And I'm Mr Capler" the older man introduced with a very deep voice. "I hope your father already discuss everything with you about the marriage and the preparations" he asked authoritatively. "Yes...."I lied even wondering what the preparations were all about.
"Did my dad really go that far in arranging a marriage for me? He even went as far as making preparations without my knowledge?" I couldn't help but think about it.
"Your dad will soon be here so we can start properly" Mrs Capler spoke taking a bite of her food."What?! My dad was coming" I screamed inwardly with a lot of shock visibly showing on my face.
"But for now please feel at home and enjoy your meal" she added while chewing. "How was i supposed to possibly feel at home that moment. An arrangement of my marriage I have no idea about is already going on. And my dad was going to be here any moment from now and saying a whole lot of uncomfortable things.
Everything was just going off side . I had nothing absolutely nothing under my control at that moment.
I took a spoon of the rice pudding that was dished out for me and it actually tasted really good. I lifted up my face to meet the perfect guy staring. My heart paused for a moment. I could feel my pulse racing. Why was he staring so much? Our eyes locked for a while and then he looked away. God! the guy was hell charming. Part of me was glad and wishing that he was the one I was going to marry.
After a short while, my dad walked. He was directed to where he was going to sit by the same person who directed me. He gave me a angry look as soon as our eyes met. I knew he was mad cause I wasn't dressed properly for this. But I didn't care about all of that.
I was eager to know what the preparations were all about and who I was actually getting married to. I needed to know who was actually Mr.Dutan.
