Knox: A couple days turned into two weeks before I even noticed. Time didn’t work the same out here. It stretched out. Made you slow down. Left you time to Breathe. Viv and I… we slipped into a routine. Not something either of us was used to, not something I ever thought I’d crave. But damn if it didn’t come easy. Easier than I expected. We slept in. Drank too much diner coffee. Walked to town when it wasn’t too hot. She’d steal a candy bar from the gas station just for the thrill of it, then hand it to a kid on the sidewalk with a wink.
