Viv: Knox picked me up after work jusy like he said he would. I woke up tangled in sheets that weren’t mine, in a bed too soft to belong to the life I lived. For a second, I panicked—heart racing, stomach flipping. Then I smelled him. Knox. Leather, cedar, a hint of smoke. Masculine and familiar in a way that made something low in my belly twist. I blinked against the morning light and rolled onto my back. My body ached in places I didn’t want to think about too hard. My thighs. My throat. My goddamn heart.
