Akeelah has been very on edge today. "Jess, do you think I can take Akeelah for a run?" I asked as I entered the lounge. Her eyes snapped up towards me and asked me what I meant by ‘on edge’. I did not know how to explain it, she never used to be so giddy. “I don’t know Jess, I mean I don’t know how to explain it.” I gave her my honest answer. “I see, Enigmia, have you read the part of mates in the books I gave you?” she questioned me. Giving her a quizzical look, wondering why she would ask such a question. "I went through it, but I did not really give it much attention, as we never have visitors, so why would I bother?" "We never went anywhere," I said, honestly. Her eyes grew wide in concern, "You may go for a run, but please Enigmia, you have to keep Akeelah and Amy closed for now." "It is extremely important for your own protection," she answered. Maybe I will just go for a walk. She got me a bit concerned about letting Akeelah out now. Yes, that was exactly what I decided. I did bring the books and I will go through the sections once I’m back. Sorry Akeelah, but for now a walk will have to be enough until I have read those books, I say to myself.

I was on my way to meet Sheri when I noticed Mia walking towards the forest. I could not resist following. Luckily, I had some time to waste as I left a bit earlier due to my edgy behavior. As I followed, I noticed her coming to a halt. “Who is there, show yourself?” she shouted toward me. I was impressed she noticed I was following her. Nobody ever caught me before. I walked out behind the treeline with a smirk on my face. She gasped once she saw me, her lips inviting me to claim them, but I kept my composure. "Sorry, I did not mean to frighten you, it’s just you are moving toward the forest and I would not like it if anything happened to you". "It is dangerous out in the dark forest." I explained even though I knew this was not the reason I followed her. She just stood there as if she turned into stone. I started walking closer, asking, “Are you alright?” squinting my eyes to try and figure out why she would not talk. I was right in front of her, she was even more breathtaking upfront. I placed my finger under her chin, feeling those same tingles than before. Lifting her head upwards, she looked at me and I noticed her green eyes. Could it be? Is this the girl I saved that day? “Enigmia?”, her name escaped my mouth loud enough for her to hear. She suddenly snapped out of her trance and quickly stepped backward. “Apologies, thank you for informing me about the forest, I need to go.” she rambled and ran towards the cottage. Could it really be her? “Micah” I heard Sheri calling out, and I forced myself to push the memories aside.

As the stranger stepped out behind the tree, I became speechless, my mind was completely blank. I could only stare at his handsome figure moving towards me. The wind blew his pitch black hare as he came forward. I was enchanted. He lifted my face to look at him. How could someone be made so perfect? His hazel eyes only drew me in closer. I was immovable. My breathing felt heavy as I watched him, his exquisite chiseled face staring straight into my soul. I swear it felt like he possessed me. Until he called me by my rightful name. I broke eye contact when hearing my name, forcing me back to the present, noticing the electricity shooting through my body. I took a step back and thanked him for warning me about the forest. That was the fastest I ran away from someone in my life. I had no idea how he figured out my name, what were these tingles and electricity coursing through my body. I disappeared from his sight, hiding behind a tree to watch him. Then his girlfriend called, and he moved towards her, my heart tightened at the feeling of him going to another woman. Better keep this to myself, Jess will be very unhappy to hear about me having a crush on another woman's man. What if she sends me back home… no, that just won’t do. This will be my secret. No one can ever know. I felt my smile fade, I needed to go back to the cottage but my body won't allow it, maybe I will follow them a bit. This will be good to log into Jess' fine.

“Micah, I thought you forgot about our meeting,” I say nervously. He laughed at my nervousness, but something in his body language changed, something must have happened on his way here. He pushed his hand through his hair, "No, I just saw that girl, Mia, going toward the forest." "I had to tell her the forest is off limits, which caused a bit of a delay." I watched him carefully, I was certain they were destined, his demeanor towards her was undeniable. “Do you like her?” I asked amusingly. His eyes darted toward me with a questionable look. "I’m not sure, there is something about her, but I can’t place my finger on it. But let’s not linger on that, we have bigger problems at hand." I felt sorry for him, because of my situation, he was holding back on the one person that could possibly make him whole. I felt guilty for taking advantage of him so I could have a happy ending, hopefully soon. I mentioned that would have to be more careful meeting up like this, as they would be watching our every move and assured him I don’t think we have anything to be too concerned about, as long as we carry on as we had before and stick to our own timing. We agreed that we could not let his grandmother or the council force us, they will control us in every way possible if we give in to any of their demands. If we are to make this plan work, we have to stick to our own timelines. I told him we should not linger any further as he had already had an encounter with the girl. He told me to leave first, and he’ll meet up with me tomorrow after training. I snuck through the areas while he stayed behind.

I told Sheri to leave first. I had to get my emotions in control. I have never failed at any task as I forced myself from a young age to be in complete control after saving the girl. Was I losing it? I felt eyes on me and decided to play a bit. Moving into the forest slightly, I disappeared. Giving away my position before disappearing again, making the person comfortable that I am unaware of being followed. I got in position to catch the culprit following me. The figure came straight into the forest and I grabbed its arm slightly, pushing the it to the tree. My eyes grew with shock and my lips parted, "YOU."
