Chapter 20

-Remu-

I checked up on her daily, but not long as I still provoked her father to try and convince him that I had only good intentions towards his daughter, I did not want her to part from her father in a bad way, he was a good man but her father had no intentions of letting this matter go. This was the only way I could protect her. I noticed them going on a trip into the dark forest. This was the perfect opportunity to see her as her father had no permission to cross the Huntley premises boundary line. Tonight I will come fetch her for a while, it has been too long since I felt her touch. We did not become mates like others, but the attraction to her was evident. She was my one and only. It was getting late, and I saw the Hunter preparing a fire for them to sit and enjoy a meal. She seemed content but her eyes were dull, every now, and then she would scan the forest to look for me. I heard her call, but I could not take the chance to put her in danger even though my whole body screamed at me to do so. Three hunters and a supernatural. I could not seem to place her presence among them, but it did not seem that there was any hatred towards her. Could it be that these others were like Sheri?

I saw the woman with the blonde hair get to her feet, greeting the others. I took it as she was retreating to bed. Sheri got up staring towards the forest before turning to greet her and I knew I had to take the chance now. I teleported right in front of her and just when I thought I would be teleporting away, my body stiffened. Well, this was not according to plan, I thought to myself, but I turned to look at the mysterious brunette with her green eyes boring into me. I noticed the man already pointing his bow and arrow at me, but I instantly fell to one knee and submitted to her, “My Queen, please, I… I apologize, I just wanted to see my love.” I begged for forgiveness.

Did he just say "my queen?" and bowed to me, my eyebrows knitted together. I immediately felt his presence as a warlock and a powerful one as well. "Your name?" I asked watching him curiously. “Remu, my Queen,” he answered instantly. Sheri stood behind him and went down to her knees to look at him. “Why do you call me Queen?” I asked with great curiosity while I placed my arm on Micah to lower his bow. “I felt Queen Raven's presence. I am definitely not mistaken,” he said, still on his knees with his head bowed to the ground. This must be my Black Witch, as I knew no one else. “Remu, I have not met Raven yet, so I can not confirm this, but please stand,” I said, and he immediately stood up watching me. “Remu, please, my name is Enigmia but due to our circumstances I prefer you calling me Mia for now.” I requested from him. "I understand Queen…" I stopped him mid-sentence, “No Remu, just Mia, no Queen attached to it” he lifted his eyes watching me curiously stating “understood Mia”. Please take a seat. Have you eaten anything yet? He seemed nervous, as if not understanding why we accepted his presence. I could not help wondering what he had been through these past few days. He shook his head and Sheri quickly jumped up to dish him some of the food we prepared. "Will you be staying the night?" "I would not like it if you took Sheri into the danger that lurks in this forest." I questioned him and his eyes looked towards Micah. Micah smiled, confirming that it would be better this way, and he would set up a separate tent so they could have more privacy. "Thank you," he said, confusion crossed his face. He took a seat next to Sheri and I could see how her face lit up, as if she became a completely different person instantly. They had a strong bond. How could her father be so heartless? I thought to myself. Micah stood up and made his way to the traveling equipment, pulling out another bag that held a tent. Remu stood to go assist him, and they instantly connected, chatting away. Micah brought him up to date with everything that had happened the past few days. I could not help smiling as I watched him. Remu’s nerves became more settled after the discussions with Micah. I blinked my eyes and a yawn escaped my mouth. "I see my girl is exhausted, time to get you to bed," Micah said lovingly, and we greeted the couple, leaving them to catch up on their lost time together.

I opened Enigmia's blankets for her to get into bed, kissed her head and told her to have sweet dreams. I lingered, as if I did not want to leave her side, but I did not want to make her uncomfortable. She looked up at me with her mesmerizing eyes. How will I survive lying on the other side of the tent if she looks at me like this? No, I had to be stronger, I had no choice, I promised her we would go at her pace. “Are you warm enough?” I asked and she nodded.

He tugged me into the sleeping bag, but it felt so empty. I wanted him next to me, but he wanted to take things slow. How am I to fall asleep knowing he is lying right across from me? I wanted his arms around me, to hold me. I looked into his eyes and I could swear I saw a glint of uncertainty. If he chose me, why would he be so scared to be next to me? It was as if he was right in front of me but out of reach. Just as he wanted to get up, I did something I never thought I would do. I grabbed his arm and pulled him closer, “Micah, please stay with me,” I half begged. Already getting ready for his decline. I felt my heart tightening as he stared down at me. Then he kissed me… I could not think straight anymore as I gave in to him just for him to suddenly stop and look into my eyes as if he was searching for something. My heart felt as if it was slowly sinking, my lips cold. “You don't have to invite me twice” he said in a more seductive voice, and I swallowed hard with a smile. He got off the ground and the emptiness consumed me as I watch him pulling his bedding next to mine. He took off his hunting top and my heart came to a sudden stop as I looked at his bare chest. I felt the wetness between my legs and watched him get in next to me. Rolling me to my side, he pushed me close into him and I threw my arm around him, pulling into him even more. This felt like a dream and I never wanted it to end...
