My eyes twinkled with delight, it had been about three years now, introducing Micah to different suitors, but he always declined. I will inform the council immediately. Once I am certain things look good, I can get them to consider handing over to Micah. It was unfortunate my son never had the opportunity, but he just was not strong enough to rise to the top, his emotions regarding his son kept making him fall. He let his emotions lead to his decisions when he should have made his decisions according to our code.
When Micah came back, I saw a difference: He rose from the bottom to the top of the chart. I sometimes wonder what happened, but he spoke nothing of it. A grin formed on my face. Whatever happened, I thank them for making him what he is today. This marriage will make history among the hunters.

Shit, I cursed while rushing with a bowl of water to Enigmia’s room. My nerves were on edge. My hands trembling, I pulled the cloth out of the ice-cold water bowl and twisted it, placing it on her forehead. Her fever was ridiculously high, and I could not seem to get it under control. It had not been two days since she met her wolf and this fever hit her full force. It was abnormal. I did my research on wolves, and it was unusual for them to get sick.
Jess, please, you have to get me to the ocean. "I’m going to burn this place to the ground," she said. I tried to calm her and reassure her she would be fine, but she kept insisting. “Please, Jess, you need to trust me,” she said with droopy eyes. She could barely walk. “Teleport us Jess, please,” she went on. Her eyes lifted slightly looking at me, her eyes begged me to do as she asked.
“Very well, Enigmia, I trust you know what you are doing, but child please, I can not lose you.” I said with tears streaming down my face. She smiled at me, "Thank you."
The next moment, we landed on the beach where the waves crashed, washing over us. I saw the relief on her face when the water washed over her. “Move away Jess, I need you to move away from me now,” she almost shouted. My eyes grew wide with fear when her skin started glowing red as her fever rose.
“Enigmia…” I started, but she cut me off shouting, “NOW, JESS, GO!” I gasped from shock and ran toward the treeline. I watched her from a distance and suddenly her whole body burst into flames. “ENIGMIA!” I fell to my knees shaking as I cried out…
Suddenly she changed, my eyes watched in amazement, my mouth opened slowly as the golden light came through her body and the flames died down slowly with each wave washing over her body. I moved closer, observing the transformation. Standing almost right in front of her, I struggled to get the words out… “You, You, You are beautiful,” I said as I felt a smile crept onto my face.
-Amy-
“Hi Jess, got you a bit worried there, didn’t I?” I said with a cheeky tone of voice. “You’re not Enigmia,” she questioned. She was a good woman, but I loved teasing way too much to make it easy. “No, she is gone, it's only me now,” I answered arrogantly, with a smirk on my face and eyes squinted.
"Don’t talk nonsense, I know you are a demon, you can’t fool me completely." "What is your name?" she came back at me arrogantly with her shoulders pulled back.
“Amy,” was all I answered.
“Well, Amy, you caused a lot of trouble in the past, but I still love you, nonetheless, but you will place Enigmia in trouble if you keep up this behavior,” she said in a kind but reprimanding manner. My eyebrows knitted together,
“You love me?” I ask, in a confused and bewildered voice.
I had never heard of anyone loving a demon before. She threw me completely off my game plan. I watched her face soften. My head tilted trying to make sense of her actions. Then she spoke, “Yes dear Amy, you will be my wild child, you are part of Enigmia, thus you are my child and I will love you always.” She stated, and my mouth hung open in shock, she accepted me so easily, usually you just say demon and everyone runs in different directions.
She walked closer and my body stiffened. I felt her arms going around my neck, and she pulled me in for a hug. "You almost gave me a heart attack, Amy." "What am I to do with you?" she said softly but in a caring tone. She pulled me back and traced her finger over the golden markings. I was too dumbfounded I could not even form a word. Lifting her eyes to mine, she smiled broadly, “You are beautiful, why don’t you go to the river and show Enigma your beauty.”
This woman was unbelievable, I thought, she saw more in me than I ever saw in myself. The only word leaving my mouth was a stunned "OK."

I was awestruck. I have seen demons before, but Amy, she was the most beautiful demon I ever crossed paths with. Her golden markings gave a radiant glow, she looked like a Goddess. It broke my heart to think that she was under the impression that no one could love her. My wild child, I thought to myself, I now knew where all the burnings came from. I chuckled as I thought of our past struggles. Boy, I am going to have my hands full coping with her personality.
"Amy, I am going back to make some supper. I hope you will join me?" I asked with an amused grin stretching over my face. “OK,” she replied. I started walking away, a sudden thought struck me. “Amy, promise you will not burn anything to the ground,” I said, stretching my eyebrows up with a strict questioning look. She burst out with laughter, “Fine Jess, I’ll play nice.” I smiled and made my way back to the cottage.
Akeelah was easier to please, but I kept on thinking of ways to make Amy feel like she belonged. It was going to be more difficult for her than Akeelah. It'd been about an hour since I left Amy at the ocean, then I heard the door open. Amy walked in and peeked around the corner. "Welcome home Amy, do you mind setting the fireplace alight? I do feel a bit cold tonight," I shouted out towards her. I knew I had her completely confused by my behavior, but I needed to show her that she belonged. "Jess, are you OK? You are telling me to use my firepower to light the fireplace? You are not afraid I will burn the cottage down?" I heard her asking all these questions. She was shocked. I usually reprimanded them because of the fire, but now that I know what she is, I needed her to know that I trust her. I laughed out loud before saying, "Yes, I am fine and that is exactly what I am asking, and no, you will do a great job, I trust you…"
